Hello Teacup Batteries Not Included

We have the Technology is a mission in Saints Row IV.

If we want to shut down the simulation, we'll need to build a key
— Quest description

OverviewEdit

This mission involves creation of a "key" used to disrupt the simulation. Kinzie says that she needs a CPU, six Memory Modules, and six gravity inhibitors.

The CPU is located in one of the crates at Sierra Point Island. Johnny Gat assists The Protagonist during this section, attacking enemies as they get close.

The Memory Modules are in one of the shield generators at one of the towers. There are three generators, each one providing two modules. While obtaining the modules, Johnny assists in a helicopter.

Once six memory modules are collected, Zin forces try setting up a force field at the north dock. After reaching the dock in time, three generators must be destroyed in order to retrieve the gravity inhibitors.

Johnny Gat arrives, but his helicopter crashes. Shaundi arrives by helicopter and picks up The Protagonist.

TriviaEdit

  • The title "We have the Technology", refers to the opening catch-phrase from TV series 6 Million Dollar Man.
  • With the objective "Follow Johnny Gat", he may be glitched during this mission and hiding underneath one of the helipads at Sierra Point. Restarting the mission at the check point fixes the issue, allowing a helicopter pickup.

PrologueEdit

Phone Call: "Ben King's a genius. We managed to figured out how we can overload the simulation completely."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "When did you have time to do that?"
The Protagonist - Female 2: "And when did this meeting of the minds occur?"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "And you figured this out, when exactly?"
The Protagonist - Male 1: "When did you two figure this out?"
The Protagonist - Male 2: "When did you find the time to work that out?"
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Heh. I'm trying to picture big Ben on your wee computer. When was this?"
Nolan North: "When did you two figure this out?"
Phone Call: "Just before I was kidnapped. Probably why Zinyak went after me, actually."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "So what do my two biggest brains recommend?"
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Just what are you proposing?"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Care to spell out your master plan?"
The Protagonist - Male 1: "So how do we do this?"
The Protagonist - Male 2: "So what's the plan?"
The Protagonist - Male 3: "And what do you two propose we do now?"
Nolan North: "So how do we do this?"
Phone Call: "If I can hack directly into the main system, then I can bring down the walls between simulations and force Zinyak to divert an enormous amount of resources to keeping it from crashing all together."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "But... we want it all to crash, right?"
The Protagonist - Female 2: "I thought we wanted it to crash."
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Ain't the whole point to let it crash?"
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Don't we want it to crash?"
The Protagonist - Male 2: "We do want it to crash, though. Don't we?"
The Protagonist - Male 3: "But a crash would be a good thing, yes?"
Nolan North: "Don't we want it to crash?"
Phone Call: "Oh it will, he won't be able to stop it. But for now what I need from you is parts. For a key."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "You mean like a house key, or a car key?"
The Protagonist - Female 2: "But a key is a one-part item, no?"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "I don't follow. Keys don't have parts."
The Protagonist - Male 1: "A key? Keys don't have parts."
The Protagonist - Male 2: "What, like, one of those machines that grinds keys?"
The Protagonist - Male 3: "What sort of keys do you have, Kinzie? Mine don't come in parts."
Nolan North: "A key? Keys don't have parts."
Phone Call: "Ach, not that kind of key. Anyway, Gat will be there to help you. Remember, this is important."
— "Pre Mission Call"

The Protagonist - Female 1: "Made it."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Ready for more, Kinzie."
The Protagonist - Female 3: "I got there in one piece."
The Protagonist - Male 1: "I think I made it."
The Protagonist - Male 2: "Okay, I'm there."
The Protagonist - Male 3: "I'm here, Kinzie."
Nolan North: "I think I made it."
Kinzie: "Good, they've abandoned powering up the shield. Just destroy those generators and you should find the gravity inhibitors."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "Okay, wait. These look just like the last generators. So why didn't I grab their inhibitors. And shouldn't something called a "gravity inhibitor" float like a balloon?"
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Tell me, Kinzie, if these have "gravity inhibitors," should they not hover or something? And why did I not take some from the last generators -- they were identical!"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Whoa, whoa, whoa... Hang on, sugar. These look just like the last ones. So why didn't I find your "gravity inhibitors" back there? And shouldn't these things float or something?"
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Hold on, if these generators have "gravity inhibitors" then A, why aren't they floating and B, why the hell didn't I get these from the last generators? They look exactly the same!"
The Protagonist - Male 2: "Wait a minute, these generators look just like the last ones. Why didn't I just grab your "gravity inhibitors" from them?"
The Protagonist - Male 3: "I call bullshit, Kinzie. These look just like the last ones. Why didn't I find gravity inhibitors in them? Shouldn't I be looking for generators that hover?"
Nolan North: "Hold on, if these generators have "gravity inhibitors" then A, why aren't they floating and B, why the hell didn't I get these from the last generators? They look exactly the same!"
Kinzie: "Because obviously the last generators didn't have them since they were on floating platforms."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "Sure, okay. Still doesn't explain the balloon part."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Obviously. And why don't they hover?"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "And why don't they float...?"
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Fine, and the not floating part?"
The Protagonist - Male 2: "If you say so. Hey why don't these ones float then?"
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Right. Obviously. And why does this not hover?"
Nolan North: "Fine, and the not floating part?"
Kinzie: "Because... they're not turned on?"
Johnny Gat: "She doesn't know, does she?"
The Protagonist - Female 1: "Not that she'll admit it."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "She usually knows enough."
The Protagonist - Female 3: "We're all just playing this by ear."
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Nope."
The Protagonist - Male 2: "Hell no."
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Well fuck no."
Nolan North: "Nope."
— "Arrive at Pier"

Kinzie: "You should be able to find generators on the floating platforms around the towers. Destroy them and take their modules."
Johnny Gat: "Whoa, we're breaking pinatas now?"
Kinzie: "No, the generators are made up of a lot of different parts. We just need one thing from them and the fastest way to get them out is to destroy them."
Johnny Gat: "And that doesn't damage the module? That doesn't make any sense."
Kinzie: "It's a simulation!"
— "Arrive at Tower"

The Protagonist - Female 1: "We have what we need, so..."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "All done here. Let us--"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Shopping list is all checked off, so let's..."
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Okay, we're done here. Let's..."
The Protagonist - Male 2: "We got what we came for, let's get the fuck..."
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Now let's take our loot and get the hell--"
Nolan North: "Okay, we're done here. Let's..."
Johnny Gat: "Yo dawg, this shit's on fire. I have to set it down somewhere."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "C'mon, Johnny, we just got you back. Can you land in one piece?"
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Merde. Can you see a clear place to land?"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Johnny, I just got you back. Y'think you can keep from dying all over again?"
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Shit. Can you find a safe place to take it down?"
The Protagonist - Male 2: "Shit. Think you can land it safely?"
The Protagonist - Male 3: ""Yo dawg"...? You have been gone awhile. Can you keep from dying again, mate?"
Nolan North: "Shit. Can you find a safe place to take it down?"
Johnny Gat: "It's barely responding, but yeah, I think I can."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "Set down anywhere, Gat. I'll get to you. Kinzie, keep an eye on us!"
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Just land it, Johnny. Kinzie, maintain contact."
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Then get down safe. Kinzie's got our back."
The Protagonist - Male 1: "I'll keep up with you, Johnny. Kinzie, keep your eyes on us."
The Protagonist - Male 2: "I'll get to you, Johnny. Kinzie, don't lose us."
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Set her down, John. Kinzie, stay on the line."
Nolan North: "I'll keep up with you, Johnny. Kinzie, keep your eyes on us."
Kinzie: "Right."
— "Gat Damaged"
The Protagonist - Female 1: "Johnny you better be okay..."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Gat?! You alive?"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Sugar, say something!"
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Johnny. Johnny, are you all right?"
The Protagonist - Male 2: "Johnny, talk to me!"
The Protagonist - Male 3: "You okay, partner?"
Nolan North: "Johnny. Johnny, are you all right?"
Johnny Gat: "Yeah, I'm fine."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "Good. We've got plenty more aliens to kill."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Used another of your nine lives, eh?"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Don't scare me like that."
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Thank god."
The Protagonist - Male 2: "That's a relief."
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Let's not do that again."
Nolan North: "Thank god."
Johnny Gat: "Seems like I picked a hell of a spot to crash, though."
Shaundi: "Boss, Johnny, are you there?"
Johnny Gat: "We're still kicking."
Shaundi: "I'm only a few seconds out. Don't worry, I'm not letting anything happen to Johnny... to you two."
Johnny Gat: "Eh, it's nothing we can't handle."
Kinzie: "Once Shaundi gets there, make sure the area's clear so she can land."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "Will do."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Already in progress."
The Protagonist - Female 3: "You bet."
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Already working on it."
The Protagonist - Male 2: "On it."
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Right away."
Nolan North: "Already working on it."
— "Gat Down"
Johnny Gat: "Dammit, I'm not going to make it. This thing's going down."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "Crash land if you have to!"
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Make it work!"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Dammit!"
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Just hang in there, Gat!"
The Protagonist - Male 2: "Just do it!"
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Any landing you walk away from..."
Nolan North: "Just hang in there, Gat!"
Kinzie: "Hold on, I'm sending in Shaundi to pick you guys up."
— "Gat Going Down"
Kinzie: "There it is. Just be careful with it, all right?"
The Protagonist - Female 1: "I'm always careful! Well, usually careful... well I mean there's been a few... fuck it, it'll be fine."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "When am I ever not careful?"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Relax, hon. We won't eff up your CPU."
The Protagonist - Male 1: "It'll be fine."
The Protagonist - Male 2: "Yes, mom."
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Handle with care, John. Or else."
Nolan North: "It'll be fine."
— "Get CPU"
The Protagonist - Female 1: "That's all the modules, Kinzie."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "I have the last one now."
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Found the last one!"
The Protagonist - Male 1: "I think that's the last one."
The Protagonist - Male 2: "Think I got the last one."
The Protagonist - Male 3: "All done. What's next?"
Nolan North: "I think that's the last one."
Kinzie: "Okay, the gravity inhibitors are at the dock, though it looks like they're trying to put a force field up around the area. Get moving fast before they block you out!"
Johnny Gat: "Don't wait for me, I'll be right behind you."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "Check."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Understood."
The Protagonist - Female 3: "I hear ya."
The Protagonist - Male 1: "On it."
The Protagonist - Male 2: "Got it."
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Roger that."
Nolan North: "On it."
— "Head to Pier"
Kinzie: "Next head to the nearby tower. That's where the memory modules are."
Johnny Gat: "Right on. I'll grab one of these assault choppers and meet you there, boss. Just don't kill everyone before I get a few shots in."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "Johnny, I got a long way to go before I catch up to your body count."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "I will try to exercise some restraint."
The Protagonist - Female 3: "No promises."
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Hey, you know I can't control myself sometimes."
The Protagonist - Male 2: "You know how I am once I get going..."
The Protagonist - Male 3: "In an assault chopper, a few shots are all you need."
Nolan North: "Hey, you know I can't control myself sometimes."
— "Head to Tower"

Johnny Gat: "Now this is my idea of a good time."
Johnny Gat: "Who needs super powers when you got a chopper?"
Johnny Gat: "Keep away from the boss, assholes."
— "Johnny Shooting Platforms"

The main parts I'll need to assemble the key are the central processing unit, memory modules, and gravity inhibitors. I've located a CPU at the old Steelport Guard Armory. While you get that, I'll look around for the other stuff.
— Kinzie, "Mission Brief"

The Protagonist - Female 1: "You mind telling us what this thing looks like?"
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Do you have a picture of this CPU? I mean, what does it look like?"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Might help to know what this processor looks like."
The Protagonist - Male 1: "You know what this thing we're going after looks like?"
The Protagonist - Male 2: "Can you describe what Johnny and I should be looking for?"
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Care to tell us what this unit looks like?"
Nolan North: "You know what this thing we're going after looks like?"
Johnny Gat: "Some computery tech thing. How should I know?"
Kinzie: "It's a central processing unit. It's for... you know what, I'll point it out when you get close. Jeez..."
Johnny Gat: "Works for me."
— "Mission Start"
The Protagonist - Female 1: "Okay, I think I got it."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Do I have the correct module?"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Did I find the right doodad?"
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Is this what I'm looking for?"
The Protagonist - Male 2: "This the right piece?"
The Protagonist - Male 3: "This the right one?"
Nolan North: "Is this what I'm looking for?"
Kinzie: "Yep. There should be two more generators to destroy. Look around for them."
— "Pick Up First Module"
The Protagonist - Female 1: "We're here, Kinzie, but I'm not sure where to start looking."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Hello Kinzie, we are on site. Now where do we find the processor?"
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Kinzie? Me and Gat are in. Now where's that... doohicky?"
The Protagonist - Male 1: "All right Kinzie, we're here. Now where is this unit thingy?"
The Protagonist - Male 2: "Kinzie, we're in. Where the CPU at?"
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Listen, Kinzie? Gat and I are on site, but we're not sure where to begin our search."
Nolan North: "All right Kinzie, we're here. Now where is this unit thingy?"
Kinzie: "In one of the crates around the armory. They're welded shut though, so use your telekinesis to pull the doors off."
Johnny Gat: "I thought you knew where it was?"
Kinzie: "I do. IN ONE OF THE CRATES AROUND THE ARMORY."
Johnny Gat: "Okay, okay, no need to get touchy."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "She's always like this, Johnny. Get used to it."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "You'll grow accustomed to her, Johnny."
The Protagonist - Female 3: "My life and welcome to it."
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Believe me, Johnny, you'll get used to it."
The Protagonist - Male 2: "Don't worry, Gat, she'll grow on you."
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Touchy is her middle name, mate."
Nolan North: "Believe me, Johnny, you'll get used to it."
— "Reach Armory Island"
Johnny Gat: "Area's all clear."
Shaundi: "All right, landing this thing."
The Protagonist - Female 1: "Let's deliver this shit to Kinzie... she's a little cranky after the poodle skirt incident."
The Protagonist - Female 2: "Thank you Shaundi. We're good to go."
The Protagonist - Female 3: "Let's get outta here."
The Protagonist - Male 1: "Let's get out of here."
The Protagonist - Male 2: "Time to go."
The Protagonist - Male 3: "Great. I'm sick of this place."
Nolan North: "Let's get out of here."
Kinzie: "Dammit, I heard that!"
