Description
Edit
Under threat of being burned alive, a desperate Veteran Child sneaks into the Saints Hideout, where Shaundi is weighing bags of Loa Dust. In a struggle to get away Shaundi is knocked unconscious, but as Veteran Child attempts to leave with her The Protagonist enters. A small gunfight ensues, but by using Shaundi as a human shield, Veteran Child narrowly manages to escape.[1]
The Protagonist chases after Veteran Child, and with help from Pierce over the phone, manages to track him down to On Track. The Protagonist uses flashbangs to separate Veteran Child from hiding behind Shaundi, and promptly guns him down. The Protagonist helps Shaundi up and they leave On Track, as The General's Hounfor pulls away in the background.[2]
Story
Edit
The following text has been transcribed verbatim from the game files, and can be read in-game upon completion of the mission. To do this, simply select the mission for replay at a Newspaper Clipboard.
A local DJ is dead after a shootout at On Track nightclub involving the Saints and Sons of Samedi. Witnesses describe scenes of terror as the Saints leader burst into the nightclub firing at everything and everyone. It's unclear whether Veteran Child's death was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or if he was in fact connected to the Sons of Samedi in some way. Officials have not yet determined if an earlier shooting at Cocks Nightclub is somehow related.
Gameplay
Edit

Added by Moozipan CheeseAs soon as the mission begins, head north to the Night Club named Cocks. Kill all Sons of Samedi enemies inside and Pierce will inform The Protagonist that Veteran Child is in fact at the On Track night club. Head there and kill all opponents while heading downwards. At the bottom, a boss fight begins against Veteran Child.
Veteran Child is protected from all damage while he is holding Shaundi, so pick up one of the many Flashbangs dotted around the floor (they are marked by a green arrow) and take cover. Flashbangs stun targets without causing damage, so throw one at Veteran Child's feet and take cover so The Protagonist isn't stunned as well; when it detonates, Veteran Child and Shaundi will both be dazed. Veteran Child will briefly let go of Shaundi, so make use of this to shoot Veteran Child before he grabs Shaundi again. He can take a lot of damage, so when he does grab Shaundi again, simply pick up another Flashbang and repeat. When Veteran Child is exposed, he is weakest against shotguns, so using them over other weapon types is recommended. Also note that while fighting Veteran Child, other Sons of Samedi will join in the fight - they are easily disposed of, but note that some may throw Pipe Bombs.
After two or three stuns and subsequent rounds of damage, Veteran Child should fall and the mission will end.
Rewards

---
The Protagonist (Male Voice 2): "Of course it's a trap. It's what I would do. Listen, I need you to find out other places he might have taken our girl."

The Protagonist (Female Voice 1): "Seeing as I'm planning on shooting everyone in the bar, I'll feel bad if it's not. Shaundi's counting on us Pierce, we need to find other places he might take her."

The Protagonist (Female Voice 2): "Honey, why don't you save me the trouble and put a gun in your mouth."
The Protagonist (Female Voice 3): "I don't think you're scared. You're stupid enough to think you actually have a chance."
The Protagonist (Male Voice 1): "Let's see if you can still run your mouth after I knock your goddamn teeth out."
---
The Protagonist (Male Voice 2): "Bitch, you are gonna be begging for me to kill you."
The Protagonist (Male Voice 3): "I really hope you don't talk this much when I'm killing you."
The Protagonist (Female Voice 1): "Run your mouth all you want, I'm gonna be shutting it permanently soon."
The Protagonist (Female Voice 2): "Face it baby, you're living on borrowed time."
The Protagonist (Female Voice 3): "I'm gonna enjoy taking you apart."
The Protagonist (Male Voice 1): "[On the phone] Veteran Child was never here. You got anything?"
---
The Protagonist (Male Voice 2): "[On the phone] They weren't here. You find anything?"
The Protagonist (Male Voice 3): "[On the phone] Veteran Child was smart enough not to show. You got anything?"
The Protagonist (Female Voice 1): "[On the phone] It was a trap like we thought, but Shaundi and VC aren't here. You got some good news?"
The Protagonist (Female Voice 2): "[On the phone] Veteran Child didn't even show. Tell me you found something."
The Protagonist (Female Voice 3): "[On the phone] Well, I called it. No Veteran Child, no Shaundi. You find anything on your end?"
The Protagonist (Male Voice 1): "No worries, I can drop this asshole myself."
---
The Protagonist (Male Voice 2): "Nah, I want this asshole myself."
The Protagonist (Male Voice 3): "Don't worry about, I wanna take care of this personally."
The Protagonist (Female Voice 1): "Don't worry about it, I can handle this."
The Protagonist (Female Voice 2): "No, no... this one's all me."

---
The Protagonist (Male Voice 2): ""Oh shit" is right, motherfucker."
The Protagonist (Male Voice 3): "Granted, I didn't really think much of you in the first place, so I don't know how much that's really worth."
The Protagonist (Female Voice 1): "I'll be honest, I'm kinda insulted."
The Protagonist (Female Voice 2): "Whaddya say we go on a second date?"
The Protagonist (Female Voice 3): "I always thought it was kinda a shitty night club, but hey, who am I to judge?"
The Protagonist (Male Voice 1): "Spin your favorite record because when I find you, you're a dead man..."
---
The Protagonist (Male Voice 2): "Did you really think you could hide from me?"
The Protagonist (Male Voice 3): "Look on the bright side, you bought yourself a couple more minutes to live."
The Protagonist (Female Voice 1): "You better have something better planned at On Track, because if not, killing you is probably gonna feel like a let down."
The Protagonist (Female Voice 2): "I got an idea, how about I meet you at your place?"
The Protagonist (Female Voice 3): "I want you to know that I'm coming for you, Veteran Child, and when I get there I'm putting a bullet in your worthless skull."
The Protagonist (Male Voice 1): "You better believe it is, Veteran Child."
---
The Protagonist (Male Voice 2): "See you soon."
The Protagonist (Male Voice 3): "Oh well, we can talk about this in person soon enough."

Shaundi: "My ex-boyfriend's a dick."
The Protagonist: "Pretty much, yeah."
The Protagonist: "I can't believe you got your ass kicked by that chump."
Shaundi: "Did I mention that my ex-boyfriend's a dick?"
The Protagonist: "You should go home and rest."
Shaundi: "If by resting, you mean smokin' an ounce, then hell yeah..."
Trivia
Edit

Added by User452- The fourth mission in each story arc in Saints Row 2 features a member of the 3rd Street Saints in peril, but this is the only one of the three where an ally doesn't die.
- If players are using cheats, make sure to turn off "Super Explosions", as the Flashbangs are significantly less effective with it on.
- This mission bears a resemblance to the later Saints Row: The Third mission, "Three Way", should the player save Shaundi; both missions have Shaundi being used as a Human Shield, with The Protagonist being forced to use a Flashbang (or in Saints Row: The Third's case, the Fart in a Jar, which is an upgraded Flashbang) to release and save her.
- The building in the image of the Stilwater Gazette newspaper article that appears on the mission completion screen is of the Cocks night club, although Veteran Child died in the On Track night club.
- This mission is one of three gang-arc missions in Saints Row 2 which do not unlock a neighborhood. The others are Assault on Precinct 31 and Waste Not Want Not. This is the only one of the three which does not take place within an Ultor neighborhood.
