To-do list > Mission > Objective links

As you may have noticed, I've been linking the objectives in the mission infobox so that people can quickly find the information they're looking for.

See here for a list of articles which have already been updated

The key to doing this is a, which creates an anchor for the link to target.

Here is an explanation of how add objective links and anchors

Example objectives from Waterfront Rooftop
* Fight your way to the rooftop.
* Destroy the Vice King patrols!

Step 1Edit

Remove any existing links.

 • Since the entire line will be changed into a link, there cannot be links within links.
* Fight your way to the rooftop.
* Destroy the Vice King patrols!

Step 2Edit

Add around each line.

 • The # means "link to section" instead of "link to page"
* Fight your way to the rooftop.
* Destroy the Vice King patrols!

Step 3Edit

Copy the objectives to the gameplay section, and use a to make objective headings.

 • Don't forget to remove the #
 • Don't forget to replace the end ]] with }}
;obj1
;obj2
Fight your way to the rooftop.
Destroy the Vice King patrols!

Step 4Edit

Replace the bold text with color.

 • The colour should match the colour of the in-game text, but if it is not known, just use red.
 • These headings may contain links, but they are optional.
;
;
Fight your way to the rooftop.
Destroy the Vice King patrols!

Step 5Edit

Put the objective headings in the appropriate place in the gameplay section. Some rewording may be necessary if the existing text glosses over the individual parts of the mission.

It's that easy!

I'm skipping step 4 for articles where I'm only adding objective links and not replaying the mission myself, because this involves additional verification.
By default, all bold words will be coloured red, but should later be changed to the correct color.
All on-screen messages should also be added, as well as noting any custom HUDs.
For example, I've noticed that Burning Down the House should have the on-screen message "It's locked, find the [color:green]key", but it is not noted in the article.
On-screen messages such as this are listed on

Objective links and anchors should now be present in all Mission articles, but may still need to be updated with colours to match the in-game strings.
There also may be missing mission objectives, as I only linked existing objective lists, and did not verify the objectives myself.
See Forum:Infobox review - Mission objectives.
