DescriptionEdit

Stilwater natives long victimized by gang warfare and police corruption, Maero formed the Brotherhood from the cast-outs and dredges of Stilwater society. Ostracised for their status and their tattoos, he united them as a solid force of strength and intimidation intent on avenging itself upon the police and the city. Due to the fact that the nuances of money laundering and blackmail are beyond them, they simply drive up to a store in a large truck and charge in and take what they want. If anyone gets in their way, they kill them. Their definition of subtle warfare is excessively violent extortion.

The Brotherhood are lead by Maero, a 6.3[reference?] feet tall muscular tattooed man. Their gang color is red, and their symbol is the red wolf. The gang is primarily composed of Caucasians and Hispanics. They wear piercings and tattoos, drive in huge trucks and listen to rock and heavy metal music.[which station?] Maero's lieutenants are Jessica, his girlfriend, Matt, his tattoo artist and also a lead singer for a popular heavy metal gang called Feed Dogs, and Donnie, former Westside Rollerz member, who also serves as Maero's personal mechanic for his Atlasbreaker. The Brotherhood operate in areas previously owned by Los Carnales: the industrial area of the city and also the airport, with their hideout being few warehouses on the docks. The Brotherhood are specialized in gun smuggling.

The Brotherhood flash their allegiance with numerous piercings and tattoos, bright colors, and gas-guzzling trucks. A majority of their gang clothing comes from either; Branded for trousers, usually canvas pants; Sloppy Seconds for their upper torso, torn t-shirts or black tank tops, Leather and Lace (in the shopping mall) for boots and over shirts, usually leather vest's and finally Nobody Loves Me, also found in the shopping mall, for their tribal belts and piercings. The Brotherhood's way of dealing with business is brutish and has little to no strategy, making them both the most physically strong and least organized of the three enemy gangs in Stilwater.

ActivitiesEdit

The Brotherhood are somewhat better armed than other gangs, as they have a shipment of weapons which came from an unknown location. Their weapons of choice are generally found to be: GDHC .50 pistols; Sledgehammers; 12 Gauges; SKR-9 Threats; K6 Krukovs; Pipe Bombs; Molotovs and Hand Grenades. They do protection rackets (as they extort several shop owners), they also do prostitution (as seen in Snatch activity) and drug dealing (they were dealing drugs with a European gang in the Wardill Airport). In a melee fight, they use sledgehammers and wrestling for their fighting style.

Trivia Edit

  • The Brotherhood have a couple of similarities with Los Carnales. Their logo, a wolf, has a cross within it (Los Carnales' logo).
  • Completing the 11th Brotherhood mission unlocks the Brother's Keeper achievement for the Xbox 360.
  • The Brotherhood is likely inspired by various outlaw motorcycle groups. They wear "patches" like a motorcycle gang, and gun-running is a trade normally associated with outlaw motorcycle groups. Despite this, they use motorcycles rarely, opting instead for large SUV's and Trucks.
    • They appear to have the same style of vests to the fictitious gang The Warriors.
    • Some aspects of the gang are based on PEN1.
  • A news report in the first cutscene reveals that Maero and a group of members from the Brotherhood went on a violent rampage in Ezpata, a location in the Brotherhood territory, below Cooperton. The news report video shows a news reporter filming Maero rob a liquor store and a large Asian woman standing up to him, only to be killed by a lower cut punch. He is then seen running the reporter over in his Compensator truck.
  • The Brotherhood vehicles were probably different during production because the Unlock Screen shows the Swindle, Legion, and the Alaskan with different trim colors. The Compensator also has a different grill shaped like a wolf.
  • In Saints Row 2, the player attacks all three gangs without any prior knowledge of their work. The first being an attack on a member of the Brotherhood for changing the television station during the trial of Johnny Gat.
  • The Wardill Airport Hangars stronghold depicts a meeting with the Brotherhood and a European gang. It has been speculated that this may relate to the Morningstar in Saints Row: The Third, but there is no proof of this.
  • Donnie was in the Westside Rollerz in Saints Row but goes into the Brotherhood after Westside Rollerz fall. Also Donnie changes his hair from blue to red.
  • Most Brotherhood vehicles are set the radio station Krunch 106.66.
