Description
Edit
The player, along with Shaundi, Pierce and a few members of the Saints travel to Syndicate Tower in order to finally kill Phillipe Loren. After facing waves of enemies, then arming a bomb with a sixteen-minute timer in order to destroy the tower, the gang fight their way through the building eventually meeting a naked Oleg, the man whom all brutes are originally cloned from. The gang decide to free him and he begins to work with them leading them to Loren. at the top, the gang finds that Phillipe has taken an express elevator to the basement. The player leaps onto a large Ball ornament over an opening. The Protagonist then asks Shaundi and Pierce to shoot the chains holding the ornament, while the player holds off the opposing Morningstar. After the chains are finally broken the player falls. When the ornament becomes stuck, a brute jumps on, dislodging it, and The Protagonist shoots him. The brute loses his balance and falls before it can attack. As Phillipe stops to savor his escape, a mistake that costs him dearly, the ornament crushes Phillipe, killing him. After Phillipe is dead the player then has the choice to 'Disable the Bomb' or 'Escape the Tower'. Disarming the bomb allows the player to earn a permanent money raise, while detonating the bomb earns a permanent respect raise. Either choice shows the ornament rolling down Steelport streets and crushing numerous objects in the process.
Choice
Edit
Option 1 "Blow Up The Building"
- Description: Permanent Respect Bonus
- Unlockable: "Bonus - Respect" - "10% bonus to ALL Respect earned for destroying the Morningstar HQ"
- "Kuh, Boom." (Achievement/Trophy)
- A cutscene shows The Protagonist and the other Saints driving away in the truck taken from the basement. The Protagonist talks about preparing for Johnny Gat's funeral.
Option 2 "Disarm The Bomb"
- Description: Permanent Cash Bonus
- Unlockable: "Bonus - Cash" - "10% bonus to ALL Cash earned for taking over the Morningstar HQ"
- "Tower Defense" (Achievement/Trophy) (disarm bomb)
- A cutscene shows the gang discussing how to decorate and color the building. After Pierce insists to get rid of the pink, Oleg sarcastically insists that they change it to a more "manly" color like purple. The Protagonist, Pierce, and Shaundi then all look at Oleg in disbelief, as purple is the Saint's signature color.
- Afterwards, there will be Saints decorations around the base of the tower. During the day, the Syndicate Tower remains red, while at night the lights are Saint's purple, with purple spotlights pointing to the sky.
After the mission, Jane Valderamma hosts a news report talking about either the destruction of the building or the giant ball running rampant on the city depending which you choose.
Trivia
Edit
- This mission is the first mission in Saints Row: The Third to give the player a choice of two outcomes.
- If Male Voice 3 is selected for The Protagonist, when the ornament is dislodged The Protagonist will yell "Familiar with Agincourt, you prick?". Then, when the decision presents itself, The Protagonist remarks "I'm sure there's a St. Crispin's Day joke in here somewhere...". Both are references to the 100 Years War between England and France, specifically the Battle Of Agincourt (which took place on St. Crispin's Day), where the English routed a numerically superior French army; Male Voice 3 is English, while Phillipe Loren is often implied to be French (despite his constant pleas that he is actually Belgian).
- If non-console players are having trouble with the brute on the falling ball, a good fix to try is setting the resolution of the game as low as possible, this should stop the lag that is preventing players from knocking the brute off the ball.
- When chasing Loren with the giant ball, the music playing is Dogstar by Hybrid.
