"Thank You and Goodnight!" is the sixth mission of the The Brotherhood story arc in Saints Row 2.

Description Edit

At the Saints Hideout with Shaundi and Pierce, The Protagonist laments their failure to ask Jessica about the shipment before killing her. The Protagonist is sure Donnie won't know about it after displeasing Maero, and so decides to question Matt.^[1]

Together with Pierce, The Protagonist steals a fireworks truck and uses it to get past The Brotherhood and gain access to the Feed Dogs concert, where Matt is playing. Matt has little information to give and only knows that the shipment is coming in by boat. The Protagonist, furious, mercilessly holds down Matt's hand as the pyrotechnics display activates, burning and crippling his hand and arm. As The Protagonist leaves, they phone Shaundi and ask her to find out what she can on the shipment by "[making] new friends" at the docks.^[2]

Story Edit

Doctors are not optimistic that the lead guitarist for the Feed Dogs will ever play again after a mis-used pyrotechnic seared his hand earlier today. After leading Brotherhood members on a wild chase through the city, witnesses say members of the Third Street Saints stormed the stage and assaulted the band before the leader scared everyone out of the area

Gameplay Edit

The player and Pierce have to travel to a specific warehouse and eliminate all of the The Brotherhood enemies outside.

After that, Pierce and The Protagonist hop into a fireworks truck to hunt down Matt for information. While Pierce drives the truck to the concert, the player must defend it from incoming enemies. The player is armed with infinite crates of Fireworks and they can be tossed from the back of the van onto the road or at enemy vehicles. If they hit the vehicles, they instantly explode; otherwise, they have a fuse. Any vehicle caught inside the fireworks' explosion will instantly be destroyed. Simply continue to keep tossing the fireworks from the truck and this short and easy mission will soon end.

Shaundi: "Don't be jealous, Pierce, we're all on the same team. You said before that this guy's in a band called the Feed Dogs, right?"
The Protagonist: "Yeah..."
Shaundi: "They're playin' tonight. It shouldn't be too hard to crash the show."
The Protagonist: "Nice call, Shaundi."

The Protagonist: "Looks like you get to make some new friends. Maero's got a new shipment comin' in by boat and I wanna get it before he does."

Trivia Edit

Pierce will open 102.4 Klassic FM (even if it's blocked from the player's radio station), causing The Protagonist to remark that Pierce has a poor taste in music. The Protagonist makes a similar remark during the Sons of Samedi mission "Bonding Experience". Despite this, by the events of Saints Row: The Third Pierce is a successful musician.
- Despite Pierce responding that he's the driver and that they're going listen to what he wants, he will not complain if the player closes or opens another radio station.
The other three members of the Feed Dogs have randomly generated appearances, as seen when players replay the mission (either in a new game or via the Newspaper Clipboard).^[2]
After this mission, three radio advertisements related to the Feed Dogs are disabled.
