Defining "in"[]

Technically, most of the vehicles from Saints Row IV are still included with the files for Gat out of Hell. Historically, we haven't really had to address the "Vehicles are there, but unused" problem, as it is very infrequent, and usually only involved unused variants.

  • In Saints Row 2, and Saints Row: The Third, there are many unused variants, and details about these are recorded on the vehicle pages - since the vehicles are still in the game in some form or another.
  • In Saints Row IV, the boats are still there, but are unlocked by a cheat and are added to the Garage - and listed in the Upgrades menu. This fact bypasses the question, since the game itself still "uses" them - the fact that they couldn't be accessed was irrelevant.
  • In Gat out of Hell, there are 107 vehicle definition files, but only 11 accessible vehicles. Plus an Emu in a pre-rendered cutscene. The Emu and 7 other vehicles are (Listed together someplace than I can't quite remember at the moment.)

The pertinent question right now is: Is the Emu "in" Gat out of Hell, for the purposes of category, intro, and infobox? The Emu is defined by the game files, and is visible, but is inaccessible. The game can likely be modded to make it spawn - but it can also be modded to make the 107 vehicles spawn.

There was one Saints Row IV anomaly: the Condor. It was not in the game files, but was in a pre-rendered cutscene. Because it was not physically in the game, it was determined that the article should not say it was "in" Saints Row IV. I think this is a good precedent for the Emu, because the only real difference is that the Emu is in the game files. -452 (talk) 19:35, February 1, 2015 (UTC)

Incidentally, the Emu cutscene is also pre-rendered. -452 (talk) 19:39, February 1, 2015 (UTC)

Emu Found[]

OMG!!! I just found something out! The Emu appears in the activity itself! Look at the 10:58 in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6PJt-tDtx8 ! - Michael De Santa 19:18, March 19, 2015 (UTC)

Nicely spotted. Congratulations on being the first person in the world to notice. -452 11:03, March 21, 2015 (UTC)
BTW, posting about something on a talk page is not the same thing as "adding it to wiki". -452 12:28, April 16, 2015 (UTC)
