Tips and tricks[]

Not totally sure this is appropriate in the main page, so putting it here for comment, and so other people can see it and possibly find it useful.

When you start the Snatch missions in SR3, you're supplied a stock Saints Infuego. If you plan ahead a bit, you can get a more useful car and park it nearby. If you start the activity while in another car, that car is deleted and you're left standing next to the supplied Infuego. A car with upgraded suspension, frame, bumper, etc, makes a big difference when you're having to bash through roadblocks and take shots from helicopters.

Remember that you want a 4 door; an Emu isn't gonna hold enough ho's to be worthwhile. A Hammer, a Criminal, a Bulldog, even an upgraded Infuego will work. The Criminal has really bouncy suspension and corners like a whale on ice, but is way heavy and good for smashing through roadblocks. The Hammer slides some, but is narrower and able to snake around roadblocks. Sadly, the Bear only holds two passengers (plus you). (wonders if a Knoxville would work... it corners pretty well and is reasonably fast, although light)

If you can spare the space, a homie riding along helps. The hos will often get stuck on solid objects in their way, like mailboxes or sheets of paper. The gang clowns will repeatedly yank you out of the car, causing all the ho's and homies to debark as well, right into the middle of a firefight. Once they've decided to do it, they seem to be immune to gunfire, and will ignore shots to the face until they open your door and throw you out.

Toss grenades freely, as long as it doesn't endanger your car or your pickups. Molotov Cocktails are particularly effective as it gives the gangbangers something to think about that isn't pulling you out of the car. Electric grenades are ok, too. The explosive and incendiary weapons (pistols, shotguns, SMG) are actually NOT good for this, because they tend to set the ho's on fire and give them something to think about other than actually getting in the car, or blow them away from it. When a Criminal with a brute in it shows up, GTFO quick, ho's or no. He can slap your car around to the point you can't escape, or if he's got one of the heavy weapons, blow it up relatively quickly.

Generally, by the time you're done with the second set of pickups out of three on the hard runs, you'll need to switch cars. And hey, here's a nice purple Infuego... --Azaram (talk) 17:07, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

This reads well enough to me. You should put it in the article. :) – Moozipan Cheese(talk page) 22:16, August 9, 2012 (UTC)
Coo. :) I may rummage it around a bit at work tonight, or if not, tomorrow. --Azaram (talk) 01:17, August 10, 2012 (UTC)

"Then by pushing 'up' on your D-pad"[]

And where exactly is a "D-pad" on my keyboard or mouse? Is this wiki only dedicated to console players? (unsigned: 2.235.96.140 12:35, January 1, 2014)

I had the same problem way back when. No, it's not for console only, but this article may have been written originally by someone on a console. I went and tested; it's the same key you would use to recruit passing homies. Z by default. --Azaram (talk) 14:50, January 1, 2014 (UTC)
Adding another platform specific control to the article doesn't fix the problem. -452 (talk) 15:33, January 1, 2014 (UTC)
How about instead of making pointless accusations of failing to fix problems, you fix the problem and leave a note saying something like 'I fixed it, here's how you can fix it yourself in the future'? I've been posting here since SR3 was new, and I'd never heard of the controls page, it's not something I'd normally look for. --Azaram (talk) 16:42, January 1, 2014 (UTC)
"I've fixed it (the location of your comment), next time, please reply in the correct location instead of replying below an unrelated comment to someone else".
Your use of the word "pointless" echoes my reply to 2.235.96.140, who claimed there was platform bias when there was none. Using the word "pointless" does not work here, because it is factual that: A. You added a platform specific controls; and B. Doing so failed to fix the problem.
My comment to you was neutral and factual. Your reply to me was hostile. I'm sorry if you don't like being told that your edit did not fix the problem, but that's the truth. -452 (talk) 16:59, January 1, 2014 (UTC)
Given that the vast majority of control instructions on the wiki use the format "[[Controls|Recruit button]]" - what do you think?
You can even use Special:WhatLinksHere/Controls to see all the pages which use that format.
No, the wiki is not dedicated to console players, but your comment helps prove that console players are far better contributors than PC players. How about you contribute rather than complain? (The Controls page itself is also great proof of which platform has better contributors, since many controls for PC and PS2 are missing. 15:38, January 1, 2014 (UTC))
This wiki is made by people like YOU, 2.235.96.140, so if the wiki is missing some information, then its your fault it's missing - so why don't you fix it rather than making pointless accusations of bias on a talk page? -452 (talk) 15:33, January 1, 2014 (UTC)
There is also very little information on the wiki about multiplayer and DLC, this doesn't mean that the Wiki is "dedicated to single player without DLC", it means that people who buy DLC and play multiplayer, are poor contributors. -452 (talk) 15:46, January 1, 2014 (UTC)
