Come on[]

ok i know saints row has a habit of having over the top stuff but come on? a guy that can throw cars and has arms nearly the size of an average human waist! and there is also cloning! i only considered the supernatural stuff in saints row 1 and 2 just gameplay stuff and not apart of the canon story, i guess it is. well siats row 3 ain't out yet so some of these feats may be down graded somewhat. 86.186.211.104 10:13, August 18, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I kind of agree with you on the whole cloning thing. I don't mind the whole over-the-top gameplay in Activities and Diversions at all, but I do hope they show a little self-restraint when it comes to the storyline. If they'd introduced cloning in the first Saints Row, it would have been really out of place. —Message posted by Moozipan Cheese(talk page) 16:42, August 18, 2011 (UTC)
This is a game series where you can have superpowers and beat people to death with a five foot floppy dildo. Suffice to say... by the end, Oleg is pretty tame by comparison. Atypicaloracle (talk) 02:39, September 1, 2015 (UTC)

What vehicles can Oleg ride in?[]

It would be a useful piece of gameplay information to create a list of all vehicles that Oleg can ride in. Just a suggestion. -This message by Spriggs077, a.k.a. AGrumpyPanda 21:49, February 7, 2012 (UTC)

The Criminal. That is all. It's probably why all three gangs include a Criminal in their lineup.
There's a related thread on the official forums: http://saintsrow.com/community/go/thread/view/136781/28892803/why_dont_oleg_go_in_the_compensator

Prima posted some misleading info that Oleg could climb into "truck beds", without specifying that they only meant one certain truck. --user452 05:31, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

Oleg - Instantly improves the car?[]

I can't prove it, but it feels like the truck you drive becomes much heaver when Oleg is riding along. I seem to launch other cars far more easily when Oleg is there. Anyone else notice this?

CasualGamer 05:02, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

Interesting. I just took a look at the vehicle handling file, but there's nothing special in there. Since it's a special case, it's probably defined somewhere else, so it won't be easily to prove objectively. I'll check it out in-game thought - you're probably right, and that's a cool little detail. Are you playing on xbox or PC? --user452 05:31, July 12, 2012 (UTC)
I'm playing on Xbox, so I won't be able to dig through the game's files. Admittedly, this could just be in my head as I don't often drive the criminal. Still, thank you for looking into this.
CasualGamer (talk) 04:26, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
I doubt the files for data files for Xbox will be different to the files for PC, they weren't for SR2. But I'll extract the xbox files and check anyway.
I played around in-game for a while with Oleg, but can't say I really notice a difference. Acceleration appears to be the same, as does cornering. The truck is pretty heavy already, so I don't think it appears heavier. What I didn't do, which I should have, is some jumps to see if it stays airborn the same amount. I also need to do some crash tests to see how many head-ons it takes for the truck to explode. --452 23:37, July 24, 2012 (UTC)
Okay, crash tests and airborn tests done - while I as doing the crash tests, the vehicle was launched in there air around as often with and without Oleg. Air height and time were comparable. The crash tests themselves were long and tedious, driving down the road at full speed in the wrong lane running into around 43 vehicles before exploding isn't actually that fun. There didn't seem to be any speed, handling, impact or crush differences between the two tests. I went under and over just as many vehicles. And just as few exploded on impact.
While it would certainly make sense if there was a difference with Oleg, I'm just not seeing it. It would definitely have been cool if having Oleg in the back gave the car the crushing power of a tank, or gave it extra momentum so that it didn't slow down when smashing through another car, but there doesn't appear to be any real difference.
Perhaps the fact that Oleg is visible and shifting from side to side gives the illusion of extra weight and different handling.
I've extracted the xbox files, but I'm having some computer troubles, so I'll get back to you in a week or two about that. --452 03:06, July 26, 2012 (UTC)

Image References[]

I uploaded a scan from the Prima guide that applies to this page and a few others about changes to the characters and  events in  SR:TT before it came out.  I just don't know how to add it as a reference. I tried a few times and couldn't get it to work. So if someone can do it right here for reference I can add it to the other places that it's mentioned. Kaileighblue (talk) 03:39, March 30, 2014 (UTC)

Here's one way to do it: {{ref|'''Image''': Info from Prima Guide [[File:Development history from Saints Row The Third PrimaGuide.jpg|thumb|400px|Prima scan]]}}
This will make:[1]
Which will look like this:
  1. Image: Info from Prima Guide
Development history from Saints Row The Third PrimaGuide

    Prima scan

(I'll update the {{Ref}} page with this info.)
Nice scan, btw! -452 (talk) 03:50, March 30, 2014 (UTC)

Shillelagh/Camp David[]

I think my issue there is they say they are going to Camp David. Kinzie says they are at Camp David, so either Camp David has a Broken Shilalagh or they reused the set and called it Camp David.. Which is a joke in the game so probably. Kaileighblue (talk) 13:58, March 30, 2014 (UTC)

From The Real World#Trivia: Although Kinzie states that she last heard that Oleg was at Camp David, which is where Josh states they were intended to go immediately before the Zin invasion, they are shown to be drinking at the Broken Shillelagh in Steelport. Kinzie has been inside the Zin mothership since the invasion, so she has not spoken to Oleg since that time, and had no way of knowing this. (Full transcript of that conversation is on The Real World, for reference.)
I believe that the framing showing the name "Broken Shillelagh" on the light was intentional, and Kinzie's use of the words "Last I heard" was also intentional. I think that if they were intended to be at Camp David, they would have framed the shot better, and probably added some Secret Servicemen into the shot. It doesn't really make sense why they're just kicking back having a drink while there's an alien invasion, but I like the theory that it's just Oleg's simulation. -452 (talk) 14:14, March 30, 2014 (UTC)
Then again, I also like the theory that "Because Shaundi in 'behind the scenes' ETD speaks about SRTT as if it's not real, then everything after SR2 is just a film", which takes care of most of the plotholes nicely. -452 (talk) 14:18, March 30, 2014 (UTC)
I really hate the film/coma dream theories since they're mostly used by people who don't like the direction of the games after 2 to try to discount them as fake and call for a return to a more GTA style. It seems really rude to people who like all the games and characters within.  The Oleg-Josh is probably just a throw-away gag they didn't really think too hard about and I'm here trying to force a square peg into a round hole. Kaileighblue (talk) 14:57, March 30, 2014 (UTC)
Then luckily for you, the wiki is for facts and not speculation, so if you ever see any theories unsupported by facts at all, you can go ahead and remove them. We mostly get rid of them as soon as they're added, but occasionally some slip through the cracks in the form of "this may mean..." and similar "conclusions".
I have a problem with explaining things that don't make sense as "probably a joke", because a lot of people thought that Matt Miller repeating his Side Quest line during Talkie Talkie was "the joke", but it has been confirmed by one of the developers that there was supposed to be alternate dialogue there, and that repeating the dialogue was a mistake.
I try to stick to just stating "Oleg has a Peg, it is Square" then moving on, and leaving it to others to speculate, elsewhere, about what Oleg does with it, or if indeed Oleg sticking things into round holes is some kind of joke, or just a bad analogy.
So, for example, stating "There are simulation glitch effects during The Saints Wing" is okay, but saying "The Saints Wing isn't real because there are simulation glitch effects" isn't. -452 (talk) 15:16, March 30, 2014 (UTC)

Oleg Attacking The Player[]

In a co-op game with no cheats on, for 360, my partner called Oleg in to help, only to have him hop out of the vehicle and pick up my partner in a chokehold, and then throw him down.  It looked like he was using Killbane's moveset from Murderbrawl, but I'm more concerned with Oleg attacking the player.  Anyone know how this could have happened? Foxi Hooves (talk) 14:18, June 15, 2014 (UTC)

It seems to me that it was a glitch. However if you attack your homies they will eventually turn on you and attack, so it may be that. OoppDecks (talk) 16:34, January 18, 2015 (UTC)

The Kingpin[]

Maybe it's a coincidence but does Oleg remind anyone else of The Kingpin? Purple turtleneck, white coat, freaking enormous, bald, highly intelligent... he's like the terrifying hybrid of Wilson Fisk and Heavy Weapons Guy. Atypicaloracle (talk) 02:39, September 1, 2015 (UTC)
