Spelling

Interesting spelling. Octopus is normally spelled with just the one s, but the reference checks out. -User452 07:41, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
- This actually brings up a good point regarding its name; with the recent Gamescom interviews and gameplay flooding the Internet, I've noticed that this weapon has been referred to as "Professor Genki's All Purpose Mollusc Launcher". I'm in a rush, so I can only provide this link at the moment, but IGN, Destructoid and Kotaku have all remarked on it as a Mollusc launcher rather than an Octopuss cannon, so perhaps they changed names since that link? —Message posted by Moozipan Cheese(talk page) 17:05, August 18, 2011 (UTC)

More on this, as "Octopuss" is not the correct spelling, it has already been "corrected" to "Octopus" in the past, and must therefore have a [sic] note to inform the reader that it is misspelled deliberately. --user452 21:40, January 14, 2012 (UTC)
Plural Edit
Octopus#Etymology_and_pluralization says "Octopuses" is the most common plural form. Unless the game itself specifically says "Octopi", then "Octopuses" should be used. --user452 03:03, December 30, 2011 (UTC)
- The plural has been edited back and forth several times. Unless someone can prove that the form "Octopi" is used in game, then the correct form is "Octopuses". Anyone changing this back to Octopi is adding false information, and is therefore a vandal. --user452 01:52, January 26, 2012 (UTC)
