DescriptionEdit

First revealed in IGN's video preview highlighting STAG's Crusader tank,[1] Survival tasks players with surviving an onslaught of enemies over three to nine waves. Each wave requires the player to survive a certain amount of time or kill a specific amount of enemies. Players may not stray too far from where they started the Diversion. It is possible to complete the Survival Call with a helicopter, but you'll have to stay close to the ground.

The Survival Diversion can start any time, outside of missions and activities. Someone would call The Protagonist and inform him that some gang is attacking some location and that The Protagonist should go and help protect the location. At that point a marker will appear on the map. The player is still free to start a usual mission or activity, or to save the game. Saving does not remove the marker, but reloading that saved game will. The player may use homies to complete the Survival Call. If you take too long (more than about 2 to 3 minutes) to get to the marker, then the marker will disappear.

The player is granted with Cash and Respect upon killing enemies and completing each wave.

There are 26 Survival Calls, they can be replayed any time when called on the phone. Survival Calls include battles with Morningstar, Luchadores, Deckers, Mascots, Zombies, Bikers, and the Police; with Brutes appearing as part of the onslaught for the three gangs and the zombies.

AlliesEdit

Allies will spawn at a distance of 80-150.

  • On Easy, Allies will drive a Bootlegger, containing 2 allies
  • On Medium, Allies will drive a Infuego, containing 3 allies
  • On Hard, Allies will drive a Criminal, containing 4 allies
  • Call 13, 20 Easy and Call 21 have one extra Ally
  • Call 07 Medium and Call 16 have one less Ally
  • Call 26 has no Allies

LevelsEdit

  • Wave - the number of waves in the Survival location
  • Goal - the number of enemies, or seconds
  • Allies - the percentage chance of allies spawning
  • $ - the amount of Cash awarded
  • Respect - the amount of Respect awarded

TriviaEdit

  • The last Survival Call to unlock will not be available until after the player completes the mission "Zombie Attack".
  • Once all storyline missions have been completed, all 26 Survival Calls will cycle again randomly. No Survival Calls will repeat until all storyline missions have been completed.
    • If all Survival Calls have not been completed before completing all storyline missions, Survival Calls will randomly repeat before all 26 have been completed.
    • If all available Survival Calls are completed before all storyline Missions have been completed, Survival Calls will stop. Similarly, if all 25 Survival Calls are completed before Zombie Attack, there will be no Suvivial Calls until Zombie Attack has been completed.
  • References to Survival can be found in the Saints Row 2 data files, showing that it was originally planned as a Diversion in Saints Row 2. Survival was originally intended to include a Cameraman, so it is possible that Survival in Saints Row 2 was replaced by FUZZ, although the references to the Cameraman are still included in the game data files for Saints Row: The Third.
