Signing posts[]
You know, as thorough as the discussion guidelines are, "signing your posts" is never mentioned once. Because I thought it was common sense. -452 17:08, July 7, 2013 (UTC)
Friend-finding[]
I had thought that Saints Row Wiki:Discussions#Subjects was pretty thorough - but I forgot about people looking for multiplayer partners.
Back in 2010, a page "SR2 Looking for Multiplayer Group" was created in the main namespace. As there were no competent administrators at the time it remained in the main namespace until a competent administrator was appointed. I proposed it for deletion with the reason "This belongs in the user namespace", then I moved it on my first day as administrator. It became a blog post, then when blogs were retired it became a forum post.
It was grandfathered in because it already existed before there were any rules on the wiki, but since someone has now made a similar new post, it needs to be addressed, so I've just proposed it for deletion again.
I was going to create a poll asking the question, but while trying to phrase the appropriate question, it became pretty clear that it is not the purpose of a wiki forum to facilitate finding multiplayer partners. And a poll is not appropriate to resolve this issue.
Random questions about how to do something in the game are okay, those help improve the wiki because the answers to the questions obviously need to be added to articles. But questions simply asking for people to play the game don't help to improve the wiki in any way.
The deletion proposal and this discussion will remain active for 1 month.
