[edit] Weapons list
[edit] Melee
If you've run out of ammo, or you just feel like getting up-close and personal, melee' weapons often give a small advantage over pistol-whipping opponents. However, closing that distance without getting shot can be a problem.
| Weapon | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Baseball Bat | $50 | An aluminum baseball bat. |
| Butterfly Knife | $50, can be found on some gang members and citizens | A pocket knife, properly known as a balisong. |
| Chainsaw | Unlocked by completing Crowd Control, Lvl 6 at Hotels and Marina | Perfect to chop people up. Only one chainsaw execution animation though, but it still looks cool. |
| Crowbar | $25 | Performs exactly the same as the baseball bat, but weaker. |
| Knife | $50 | Close quarters combat. Not very powerful, but fast. exactly the same look as the butterfly though. |
| Machete | Unlocked after taking down the Son of Samedi | African bush knife used for deforestation and decapitation; some Sons of Samedi wield this. |
| Nightstick | Can be found from Stilwater and Ultor police | Used by SWPD. Staple melee weapon. |
| Pepper Spray | Unlocked by completing Crowd Control, Lvl 3 at Hotels and Marina. Can be found from citizens and cops | Pure fun. Piss people off and watch them scratch at their faces madly with the pepper spray. Careful, cops use this to deal with perpetrators at low level notoriety. |
| Pimp Slap | Only unlock able with a cheat. | Giant inflatable hand, an instant kill which often sends them flying, termed as giving someone 'The Finger'. |
| Samurai Sword | Can be found from any Ronin gang member. | Can be used on bikes. Very fun to use, and includes executions and counters for only boss battles. This used to not work, but patching fixed this issue if the sword does not work for you. You can steal Jyunichi's dual Samurai Swords after you defeat him. (Does not work in mission replay) |
| Shock Paddles | Unlocked after completing Ambulance EMT diversion | Give people the shock of their lives. Great to use to stun enemies before executing them can bring people back to life as well. |
| Sledgehammer | Can be found from members of theBrotherhood | Bludgeon people to death with the Sledgehammer. |
| Stun Gun | Can be found from citizens and police officers. | Unlimited ammo and fun with the stun gun, it's essentially a single-shot pistol with a long effective range for a melee weapon that can drop regular people (gang members, police, and other people) in a single hit and keep them there for a time; sufficient hits will however eventually cause a kill. Despite being a melee weapon, it can be used with human shields both against other people and to commit a One Hit Kill using the same animation as the pistol (a single shot in the face). Also used by the police, so be ready for it in pursuits. |
[edit] Pistol
All the old pistols are back, can be dual wielded! Of course, you are still limited you to firing one pistol with one hand from vehicles, but now you can dual wield with fine aim. Completing all 6 levels of FUZZ gives unlimited pistol ammo.
| Weapon | Ammo | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| .44 Shepherd | 6 rounds | $2,000 | Easy to get headshots with. Slow rate of fire. Takes 2 shots to kill someone. It is appears to based on the Colt Anaconda. |
| GDHC .50 | 8 rounds | $3,000 | Spitting image of a Desert Eagle. Moderately slow rate of fire, powerful, and decent range. Takes 2-3 shots to put someone down (odd since it fires a .50 cal hollow point...1 shot anybody?) and only 24 rounds to blow almost any car up. Sometimes knocks down enemies. |
| Kobra | 15 rounds | Unlocked after completing FUZZ, Lvl 3 in Projects | Fully automatic, accurate, but weak pistol. It requires a 4 shot burst to take someone down.
It looks like a Steyr M1912. |
| NR4 | 12 rounds | $600 | Carried by the police of Stilwater. Slightly improved variant of the Vice 9, but with a significantly slower rate of fire. It is a Glock 21, .45 caliber. |
| Vice 9 | 12 rounds | $400 | The "medium" of all pistols. The Vice 9 has minimal range and power, but makes up for it with its fast rate of fire (it doesn't). You will find it in the hands of some gang members. It is a Beretta 84 cheetah sometimes appears as a 92fs in cutscenes. |
[edit] SMG
SMG's appear to be in effect machine pistols, and will quickly kill most enemies with simple, short bursts. Complete all 6 levels of Snatch (Downtown) to get unlimited SMG ammunition.
| Weapon | Ammo | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| GAL-43 | 50 rounds | Unlocked after completing Snatch, Lvl 3 in Downtown | Machine pistol that resembles an Uzi; has the highest rate of fire out of all the SMG's, but is also very inaccurate. |
| SKR-9 Threat | 40 rounds | $2000 | An improved version of the SKR-7; some Sons of Samedi and Ronin wield this MP5K copy, and Shaundi will use it after she is rescued in "Bad Trip." Decent accuracy and power (6 shots to kill.) |
| T3K Urban | 50 rounds | $1000 | The cheaper counterpart to the SKR-9, clearly based on the TEC-DC9; many of the Sons of Samedi and Ronin wield this pistol. Terrible accuracy and range. 8 rounds to put someone to sleep. |
[edit] Shotgun
Shotguns are perfect for close-combat, as well as shooting clusters of enemies. Although accuracy and power degrade over range, some shotguns are still effective at medium distances, making them solid all-rounder firearms. Complete all 6 levels of Drug Trafficking at the Airport to get unlimited Shotgun Ammo.
| Name | Ammo | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12 Gauge | 6 rounds | $1,400 | Good stopping power, but slow rate of fire and terrible pellet spray. Similar range to Tombstone, can be acquired at no cost (except in Health) from Sons of Samedi members who wield it. It is a sawn-off double barrel shotgun also known as the "Lupara". |
| AS14 Hammer | 13 rounds | $4,001 | An automatic shotgun with good power. A perfect replica of the USAS-12 |
| Pimp Cane | 16 rounds | Unlocked after completing the Pyramid Scheme mission | Outstanding power and shell capacity; weapon kills most enemies in a single hit, and usually sends them flying; weapon can also destroy most vehicles in 2 blasts and a motorcycle in one. |
| Tombstone | 8 rounds | $2,000 | Cheap, with a good range compared to other shotguns. Little power. The Tombstone is carried by the police of Stilwater, and likely to be the first shotgun picked up. Based on the Benelli M3 Super 90. It is not an M4, note the non-collapsable solid stock and pump-action. |
| XS-2 Ultimax | 12 Rounds | Unlocked after completing Drug Trafficking, Lvl 3 in Airport | An improvement on the AS14 Hammer, its also kinda sweet when used with the danger sign found in the park and with a greater rate of fire and power. It looks like an Armsel Striker. |
[edit] Rifle
Balancing firepower and range, rifles are often the best choice in any firefight, packing a considerable punch, as well as being accurate enough to line up headshots at a distance.
The only real drawbacks are a limited ammo capacity, coupled with a high rate of fire, the rifle demands control to avoid running out in the middle of a firefight. Complete Five full hitman lists and you unlock Unlimited Rifle Ammo.
| Name | Ammo | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| AR-40 Xtnd | 30 rounds | $5,000 | Powerful, and with good range, the AR40 is great for all types of combat and in certain missions benefits from infinite reloads. It is visibly a renamed AR-15 (AR-40) but shares ammunition with the K6 Krukov. It can also be called an M4 carbine. |
| AR-50 XMAC | 50 rounds | $15,000 | Slightly different from the AR-40 Xtnd, it is an XM8 rifle. Only takes a 3 to 4 round burst to put someone down, however, it eats up ammo due to high rate of fire. |
| AR-50 XMAC w/Grenade Launcher | 50 rounds | Unlocked for getting 3 gold stars on a combat tricks | An AR-50 with an underslung launcher that fires whatever is equipped in your "Thrown" inventory slot, but will act as a frag grenade. (e.i. even if you have flashbangs, it will still be a standard frag explosion) It is an XM8 with the underbarrel grenade launcher. |
| AR200 SAW | 100 rounds | $10,000 | Belt-fed, fully automatic, light machine gun. When burning down a Sons of Samedi drug farm with Tobias and then gunning down four escaping lieutenants (Airborne Assault), it benefits from infinite reloads. Resembles a M249 Squad Automatic Weapon. |
| K6 Krukov | 30 rounds | $3,000 | An AK-47; Just as powerful as the AR-40 however in reality it is more powerful than the M4. Some of the enemy gang members (even your own Saints) wield this during missions, such as the Sons of Samedi mission "Veteran Child" where you will see gang members attacking you with the weapon. |
[edit] Special
Weapons which are either rare enough or devastating enough to be limited to a single class. All offer such devastating power, ammo is often limited, but used correctly, can do colossal amounts of damage in a very short time. Unlimited Rockets can be unlocked by completing level 3 on the "Corprate Warfare" DLC. Unlimited Sniper Ammo counts as Unlimited Rifle
Ammo, so you get them the same way.
| Name | Ammo | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Annihilator RPG | 1 rocket | Unlocked after completing lvl 6 in the Nuclear Power Plant Mayhem activity. | The Annihilator is a laser guided
(rocket will follow where you point) or "fire-and-forget" rocket launcher. |
| Fire Extinguisher | Only unlockable using cheats. | Used in the Fireman diversion, it can be used as a weapon but is not lethal. | |
| Flamethrower | 275 | Unlocked for completing Mayhem, Lvl 3 in Nuclear Power Plant. | The Flamethrower is effective at close range. Light up people and cars in Stilwater. |
| McManus 2010 | 5 rounds | $20,000 | Originally classed as a rifle, the McManus 2010 is a sniper rifle. Complete with scope. One shot kill. Slow rate of fire. Best part is that it can take parts off vehicles such as doors and hoods. It's the new Barrett XM109 anti-material rifle. Unlocking infinite rifle ammo gives this weapon unlimited ammo as well. |
| Mini-Gun | 200 | Unlocked after completing The Siege mission. | 200-chain bullets drilling out at phenomenal speeds. The Mini-Gun "terminates" all in its path. The Mini-Gun appears as a Special weapon, but actually takes up the "Rifle" inventory slot. |
| RPG Launcher | 1 rocket | $5,000 | The RPG is perfect for destroying just about everything, from people to armored cars; please note that hitting something with this weapon will usually bring your Notoriety level up one level. |
[edit] Thrown
Thrown weapons are often the most flexible of weapons, whether used offensively to clear out a room, or defensively, to cover your retreat in a speeding car. When on foot, throwing is controlled by both triggers, allowing for Long and Short throws.
Some thrown items, which do not immediately explode, will knock enemies over, with the exception of the Satchel Charge (only working on sitting NPCs), which will stick to a target until detonated remotely.
| Name | Ammo | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flashbang | 10 grenades | $150 | Stun people in the blast radius. Effective for groups of enemies, and necessary for defeating Veteran Child. |
| Hand Grenade | 10 grenades | $150 | A good choice for those in long range combat. You will make people fly. |
| Molotov Cocktail | 10 bottles | $100 | Burn people down with the Molotov. |
| Pipe Bomb | 10 bombs | $125 | The cheap counterpart to the Grenade made out of a pipe filled with gunpower and shrapnel like nails and razor blades. Creates a non-flammable, concussive explosion with shrapnel. Although not as damaging as the Grenade, is does limit damage, useful if you don't want to start a fire or wreck a car. |
| Satchel Charge | 11 charges | Unlocked after completing 3 hitman lists unfortunately you cannot buy them you can only get them at your crib and you can only get 5 at a time | The infamous satchel charge detonates when you pull the trigger. Can be stuck to cars, objects and people, making it a very tactical weapon. It is also the strongest weapon in the game, doing more damage than the RPG and Hand Grenade. |
