[edit] 3rd Street Saints

Main Article 3rd Street Saints

The 3rd Street Saints were scattered after the events of Saints Row. Eventually, Boss along with Carlos, escaped from the prison island where he was being held captive, and formed together a new crew of Saints to fight against the new gangs in power over Stilwater.

[edit] The Boss

Boss is the leader of the 3rd Street Saints and the character the player has control of. Because he has no name, he is simply referred to as "Boss". He has survived the boat explosion in the end of Saints Row, and has wasted away in a prison hospital in a comatose state for half a decade. He escapes in a bloody prison break with Carlos and returns to Stilwater to rebuild the Saints, who have since fallen apart, and leads a new crew of Saints against Ultor and the three gangs now situated in Stilwater.

[edit] Johnny Gat

Reintroduced in: "Appointed Defender"

Johnny has returned in Saints Row 2 to bring back the Saints to their former glory. Boss helps Johnny escape from a courtroom precession that would otherwise see him to the electric chair, under charge for over three-hundred murders. Johnny was one of the lieutenants in Saints Row and always stayed loyal to the 3rd street Saints. He is the main Saints enforcer and he isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. He and Boss continue in their quest for revenge against those who have betrayed them.

In the first game, Johnny showed a violent nature and love for weapons that has extended into the second, as he is seen numerous times carrying a light machine gun instead of standard armaments. Johnny Gat plays a big part in helping the main character take down the Ronin.

Johnny is voiced by Daniel Dae Kim.

[edit] Shaundi

Introduced in "Three Kings"

Shaundi is the third Saint lieutenant and since she dated lots of men they call her anytime they find out anything usfull on any of the gangs. Shaundi was made in charge of the Sons of Samedi by the "Boss" in "Three Kings" but she helps out with the "Brotherhood" as well.

[edit] Carlos Mendoza

Introduced in: "Jailbreak"

Killed In: "Red Asphalt"

Carlos helped Boss escape from the prison island in the first mission "Jailbreak." While speaking with Boss, he also reveals that his brother was in the Saints, though his brother is rumored to be Dex this is entirely untrue. After they escape, Carlos quickly fills the role of a lieutenant for the Saints, and also is the lieutenant assigned to bring down the Brotherhood. Carlos is killed after he is tied to the bumper of Maero's truck and dragged. The boss sits with him as he dies from his wounds and shoots him in the forehead as a mercy killing.

Carlos is voiced by Joe Camareno.

[edit] Pierce

Pierce is a lieutenant for the Saints in charge of dealing with the Ronin gang. Unlike Johnny, Pierce seems to think things through instead of rushing into the scene, He has a more airy personality like Dex and is stunned when his plans are stolen by Shaundi, a recurring joke throughout the game

[edit] Reintroduced in: Appointed Defender and killed: Bleeding Out

Aisha is still dating Johnny Gat and they share a house together. After The Protaganist assisted in faking her death in the first game, her records sell even more. She is killed when Jyunichi decapitates her.

Aisha is voiced by Sy Smith.

[edit] Tera Patrick*

Tera Patrick is a former Ultor microbiologist, who is feeling guilty about having worked for the Ultor Corporation, and wishes to bring all of Ultor's crimes to the light. Therefore, she joins the 3rd Street Saints and with the help of the Protagonist, tries to fulfill her goal.

Tera Patrick is voiced by Tera Patrick.

[edit] Brotherhood of Stilwater

Main Article Brotherhood of Stilwater

The Brotherhood of Stilwater are one of the new rival gangs. Their "gang flag" color is red (the former color of Los Carnales whose name in Spanish also roughly translates to "brotherhood") and specialize in violent crime and extortion. They are one of the more brutal gangs in Stilwater and appear to draw their inspiration from infamous one percenter biker gangs such as the Hells Angels, the Pagans, the Outlaws, and the Bandidos, as well as the Aryan Brotherhood. It is humorous to note that this gang could not have existed in the previous Saints Row title because the only vehicles available for use in that game were cars and pick-up trucks. They also appear to have the same style of vests to the fictitious gang The Warriors. The Brotherhood have been described as the most destructive and powerful gang in Saints Row 2. They have also been described to have connections with former members of the Carnales gang, who were in power during the events in Saints Row. There is now a trailer released about this gang

[edit] Maero

Killed in: "Showdown"

Maero is the Brotherhood leader. Maero towers over everyone he meets. Not only is he tall, but he packs an unbelievable amount of muscle, and is covered in tattoos, all of which relate to the brotherhood gang. Maero is seen as a violent thug, who seems to threaten Boss often, but still seems to have a grudging respect for him. He is the one to meet with Dane Vogel to release his boy's out of prison to help take out the Saints. Unlike the other leaders, Maero is a violent man, straightforward, blunt, and confrontational with his tactics, but still cunning in the predatory sense, such as luring Boss, alone, into the Ultor arena filled with him, a few of his gang members, and all their vehicles. His girlfriend is a Brotherhood lieutenant by the name of Jessica. He is killed when Boss shoots him in the head after he climbs out of the wreckage of his monster truck.

After defeating him you unlock his custom monster truck.

Maero is voiced by Michael Dorn.

[edit] Donnie

Donnie returns in Saints Row 2. It was rumored that Donnie believes the protagonist is responsible for Lin's death and to get revenge for the death of his best friend Joseph Price, the leader of the Rollerz in Saints Row, but Donnie does not have anything against Boss. For some strange reason Donnie is the only Westside Roller that joined The Brotherhood, while many of the others joined the Ronin. Donnie's choice of career, however, may have been the wrong one, as he appears to be a lower class member, not like the lieutenant he was in the Rollerz. Maero takes an extreme dislike to him, however, after Donnie is forced to blow up some Brotherhood trucks.

Donnie is voiced by Andrew Kishino.

[edit] Matt

Killed in: "Seige"

It seems that a Brotherhood of Stilwater lieutenant goes by the name of Matt and is Maero's right hand man. Matt is the gang's personal tattoo artist, and has minimal involvement in the goings on of the gang. He plays in the heavy metal band Feed Dogs. His hand is burned when he was on stage with Boss and is killed when Boss smacks him around the head with a brick.

Matt is voiced by Anthony Pulcini.

[edit] Jessica

Killed In: "A Bank Error In Your Favor".

A rich girl who ran off with her "lower class" boyfriend, Jessica gave up a life of comfort to be with her man. Because she is Maero's girlfriend, Jessica definitely has an influence on the activities The Brotherhood. Jessica and Maero have somewhat the same relationship as Donnie and Price who were both best friends. In "A Bank Error In Your Favor," the Protagonist receives a call from Shaundi saying that Jessica is depositing a large amount of money at a bank. The protagonist kidnaps Jessica and brings her to the Univesity Arena where Maero is competing in a monster truck event. The protagonist puts her at the ends of the car line, where she is, unknown to him, crushed and killed by her own boyfriend in revenge for his killing of Carlos.

Jessica is voiced by Jamie Pressly.

[edit] Ronin

Main article Ronin

Ronin Flag

The Ronin is a Japanese-styled gang in Saints Row 2. Their "gang flag" color is yellow and their specialty rackets will be control of the gambling and prostitution that occurs in Stilwater. They seem to fill the power void in control of sin crimes created by the destruction of the Vice Kings by the 3rd Street Saints. The Ronins are also rumored to be the 'Buyers' mentioned in the Rollerz story of Saints Row. The Ronin are also stated to be the most powerful triad in the world. There is now a trailer released about this gang.

The Ronin are like a biker version of the Yakuza, with deeply held traditions and honor above all else. Each gang member is given a katana to wield in close combat. They are, however, still extremely skilled with firearms.

[edit] Kazuo Akuji

Killed in: 'One Man's Junk'.

An Asian man in a grey suit with a yellow tie. He came to Stilwater to teach his son Shogo how to be a better leader to his gang. It is much like the relationship between William Sharp and Joseph Price from the first Saints Row. He and his son Shogo are the ones who met with Dane Vogel. Akuji San is eventually impaled by Boss and tortured so Mr Wong can hear him down the phone, before leaving him to burn to death on a burning junk loaded with fireworks.

[edit] Shogo Akuji

Killed in: "Rest in Peace"

Shogo is the leader of the Ronin in Stilwater. Mr. Akuji San, the leader of the Ronin, in their homeland has come to teach Shogo how to be a proper leader and also came to Stilwater to clean up after the Rollerz were defeated. Some of their members are former Rollerz members excluding Donnie who for unknown reasons joined the Brotherhood. He is the son of Akuji San. He is left to die when Gat puts him in a persons coffin and leaves to die as revenge.

Shogo is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal.

[edit] Jyunichi

Killed in: "Kanto Connection"

Jyunichi is the sole lieutenant to the Ronin. He obeys Shogo's every word to the letter, until his father, Akuji San comes into town. He holds tradition and honor above all else, even to the point of his own life. Jyunichi meets his end after a brief sword fight with the Protagonist.

Jyunichi is voiced by Brian Tee.

[edit] Sons of Samedi

Main article Sons of Samedi

Sons of Samedi flag

The Sons of Samedi are the third rival gang in Saints Row 2. The Samedi's "gang flag" color is green and their main business is massive drug trafficking. They make a fortune dealing their famous drug called Loa Dust in the University area. The Sons of Samedi are an Afro-Caribbean gang akin to the "Jamaican voodoo posse" found in the movie Predator 2, which in turn was based on actual Afro-Caribbean criminal organizations that terrorized New York City in the mid 80's to late 90's. There is now a trailer released about this gang. The Samedi are simply an expansion of a larger Jamaican drug ring into America, similar to the Carnales and the Colombians in the first game.

Like the Carnales, the Samedi seem to have worldwide connections, bringing in ex-military men and other experienced thugs to Stilwater, while also utilizing the same straightforward attitude, such as abducting the protagonist to attempt to assassinate him in the General's hearse.

[edit] The General

Killed in: " The Shopping Maul"

The leader of the Sons of Samedi, clad in a white suit with a green dress shirt. Not much is known about him except his alias and that he is a very violent yet cunning man. He appears to be African, as well as a cool-tempered yet easily irritated person. He drives around in a customized green hearse with a personal armory in the back.

He manages to avoid capture or death from the Saints for quite some time. After biding their time, the Saints finally track him down in the Ultor Mall. Here, he battles them and after some time, is finally killed by the Protagonist.

The General is voiced by Greg Eagles.

[edit] Mr. Sunshine

Killed in: "Eternal Sunshine"

Not much information is known about him except his nickname, the fact that he seems to be the General's right hand man and his brutality proven when he hits someone in the back with his machete in a music store for no reason other than to clear the place out. He also shoots a drug addict who mentions purchasing the drug shipment which the 3rd Street Saints have stolen. He also controls Sons of Samedi's drug trafficking business.

Mr. Sunshine is chased down by the protagonist into a meat packing plant. Eventually, the protagonist finds him and shoots him. Sunshine falls to the ground before getting up again. After an entire magazine is put through Sunshine's body, he still manages to survive, having got up 3 times. Eventually, the protagonist uses Sunshine's machete and slices his head off, tossing it onto a conveyor belt.

Mr. Sunshine is voiced by Phil Lamarr.

[edit] Veteran Child

Killed in: "Veteran Child"

DJ Veteran Child is an absent minded lieutenant working for the Sons of Samedi. A DJ for one of Stilwater’s radio stations, he got involved with the Samedi mostly because of the free drugs. However, the closer he gets to the gang's leadership he realizes that he has gotten in way over his head (especially after Mr. Sunshine threatens him with a machete). A former boyfriend of Shaundi, Veteran Child has the same stoner and laissez-fare attitude that she has. He is killed in "Veteran Child" in the basement of On Track, after abducting Shaundi, when Boss manages to shoot him multiple times after using flash bangs to negate his use of Shuandi as a human shield.

DJ Veteran Child is voiced by Neil Patrick Harris.

[edit] Ultor Corporation

Main Article Ultor

The Ultor Corporation was a small corporation that appeared in the first game (name of the Arena, a pair of sunglasses, etc.) but have grown since the protagonist was comatose, and have helped rebuild the broken Stilwater. The corporation is managed by Dane Vogel and his group. Headquarters of the group are situated high in the sky above Stilwater, towering above the other buildings in the Downtown area. Ultor have been described as having connections with the three gangs in power over Stilwater, determined to make sure the Saints cannot rise to power, again. Things go out of control, however, as shown when Maero bursts into Vogel's office, grabs him by the throat, suspends him from the window, and forces him to help him utterly destroy the Saints.

[edit] Dane Vogel

Killed in: ...And a Better Life

Vogel is Chief Executive Officer for the Ultor Unlimited corporation. Vogel's objective was to destroy the 3rd Street Saints gang, and turn the Saints Row neighborhood into an urban utopia. Vogel is considered the main enemy for the Saints. Dane Vogel is the one who is giving any help to the other three gangs as long as they rid of the Saints. He even releases ex-members of the Carnales, Rollerz, and Vice Kings out of prison for extra support for the other three gangs, as well as springing members of the gangs themselves. He also grew up in the Saints Row district near the church.

Dane is voiced by Jay Mohr.

[edit] Police Chief Troy Bradshaw

Troy was once an undercover detective, who joined the Saints in an attempt to undermine them, with connections with then-mayor Marshall Winslow, and then-police chief Monroe. After the events of Saints Row, including the boat incident he rises through the ranks and finds himself Police Chief after the demise of Monroe. Unlike Monroe, though, Troy appears to not be as corrupted, as he takes a strange view when several Brotherhood members are released from prison on Maero's order.

Troy is voiced by Michael Rapaport.

[edit] Dexter Jackson(*)

Though Dexter is never actually seen in the main game, an audio clipping of a phone call between Dex and Troy reveals that Dex dropped his flags a little while before the bomb explosion, and currently works as Ultor's Head of Security. In the phone call, he also reveals he knew about Troy being an undercover cop in Saints Row, but will not hold it against him or do anything. Dex betrays The Protagonist when he leads him and Julius to the church and sends an army after them. Dexter is first seen again in Corporate Warfare, were he attempts to assassinate Eric Gryphon. With The Protagonist's help, Gryphon remained safe. After that, Dexter tried to smuggle toxic waste out of the city. This was also prevented due to The Protagonist. This made Dexter ask for an immediate transfer to another branch of Ultor in a different city to flee from The Protagonist.

Dexter is voiced by JAQ.

[edit] Jaime

Jaime is Dane Vogel's secretary, though she is not actually seen in the game she is heard twice telling Vogel that Maero is here to see him, it is possible she arranged Dex's travel plans to leave Stilwater.

[edit] Other characters

[edit] Anna

Anna is a talk show host, a parody of Oprah Winfrey. She seems to care very little for the less fortunate and looks up to Ultor as the best thing that ever happened to the city. She also requests the Protagonist's "help" in taking people out on her Hitman list.

Anna is voiced by Laura Simms.

[edit] Jane Valdarama

Ms. Jane Valdaranma is a news reporter, who seems to play a key role in the story of Saints Row 2, interviewing and reporting on various public figures etc. She is introduced to you in an activity and is unlocked as a homie after you complete fifty muggings.

[edit] Julius Little

Killed in: Revelation

Julius Little was the original leader of the Saints, until he was captured by the police and thrown in jail. An audio clipping of a few phone calls reveals that Julius knew about Troy being a cop. Troy wanted Julius to finish the Saints. Julius somehow escaped from prison and planted the bomb that killed Alderman Richard Hughes and almost slaughtered the protagonist. Troy was shocked by this, but was told by Julius not to come looking for him.

Once the protagonist busted out of Stilwater Prison and began to rebuild the Saints, Julius was told by Dex to meet with him at the old church to find out how to defeat the Saints, unknowing that it was a trap. The protagonist and Julius happen to run into each other here, and after a heated exchange of words, Dex throws a smoke bomb into the church window and drives off, leaving behind a platoon of the Masako Squad who storm the church. After Julius and the protagonist successfully defend the church, Julius drives them both to the Greek museum. Without warning, the protagonist fires a shot through the middle of Julius' torso and he collapses to the ground. After another exchange of words, the protagonist shoots Julius Little through the head, killing him.

Julius is voiced by Keith David.
