Description
Edit
- These Stores can be used for storing and retrieving vehicles, as well as repairing and Customizing Vehicles. Car Mechanics should not be confused with Chop Shop, which is an unrelated activity.
- These stores are open 24/7, and the garage door will open at any time, but when entering on foot the door must be kicked open at night. No alarm will sound for kicking the door in, and unlike other stores, no Notoriety will be gained for entering via the back door.
- Having Police or Gang notoriety will prevent vehicles from being modified, but vehicles can be repaired at any time.
Saints Row
Edit
- In Saints Row, the only Car Mechanic is Rim Jobs, although others are referenced in a radio ad.
- In Saints Row, the sign above the Rim Jobs garage door lists the follow services:

Added by User452- All Mechanical Repairs
- Collision Repair
- Tuning and Modification
- Power Accessories
- Tires/Wheels
- Exhaust Systems
Saints Row 2
Edit
- In Saints Row 2, Semi Broken allows customization of vehicles which are too large to fit in Rim Jobs.
- All land vehicles can be customized here, with an exception of some unique unlockable vehicles. The garage list at Semi Broken is the same as the list at all cribs.
- There are no extra options available for vehicles which can be modified at Rim Jobs, and everything is the same price at both stores.
Saints Row: The Third
Edit
- In Saints Row: The Third, vehicles may be customized directly from the Garage menu at Cribs, as well as at Rim Jobs locations. There is no Large Vehicle Garage, but all vehicles may be stored at Crib Garages.
- There is a glitch at Rim Jobs which allows customization of otherwise non-customizable vehicles.
- Method
- Drive a normal vehicle into Rim Jobs, and press action to start Vehicle Customization
- Select "Garage"
- Highlight a noncustomizable vehicle to modify
- Press back to leave the Garage menu
- The customization screen now contains the noncustomizable vehicle
- Decals and other such unique artwork and designs of regularly non-modifiable vehicles are unable to be changed. The interface may become buggy and certain decals/changes will automatically apply themselves when viewed.
- Functions of Rim Jobs that are not regularly present in Saints Row: The Third are able to be viewed, for instance, The Crusader is able to receive a "hydraulics" modification, despite it having no effect and having no presence in the game otherwise.
- Some menus are buggy, for instance, the menus for recoloring the Challenger list each form of paint as a sub-category.
Large Vehicles
Edit
In Saints Row, Vehicles defined as "Large" cannot be modified or stored in a Garage. In Saints Row 2, Large Vehicles can be modified at Semi Broken, and will not appear in the garage list at Rim Jobs, but can be retrieved from garages at Cribs.
While some large vehicles, such as the DonoVan, do have a full range of Body Mods available, most of these large vehicles have very few customization options, limited to Performance, Wheels and Paints.
In Saints Row 2, these vehicles are classed as "Large Vehicles" and can only be modified at Semi Broken, and will not appear in the garage list at Rim Jobs.

Trivia
Edit
- Rim Job is a sexual term, but also refers to the wheel rims on a car.
- In Saints Row, after entering the store on foot but leaving without retrieving a car, the mechanic will say "Maybe you will have better luck at a dealer", to help inform the player that cars can be bought from Foreign Power.
- In Saints Row 2, each Rim Jobs store can be bought for $5000 after owning the hood it is in.
- Upon entry with a weapon equipped, the clerk will sometimes say "No weapons in Rusty's Needle" implying that the same clerk was used in both stores.
- When entering Semi Broken, the Protagonist will always always kick the door when opening it. The reason behind this is unknown.
- Semi Broken has two garage doors, but whichever way you enter, you will always be facing the rear door after customizing your vehicle, which can be confusing because Rim Jobs always faces your car towards the front.
- When owning Semi Broken, you earn a 20% discount instead of the standard 10%. If you have completed all the Chop Shop lists, giving you 75% discounts on all vehicles customizations, and own Semi Broken, you'll get a 95% discount.
- A radio advert in Saints Row: The Third says "Rim Jobs: It only sounds weird until you try it!"
- In Saints Row: The Third when playing in language other than English, during customizing a non-customizable vechicle, the names of colours will be always in English.
- There is a sign that says "ALL VEHICLE SUBJECT TO SEARCH AND SEIZURE, GUARDS CARRY FULLY AUTOMATIC SUB-MACHINE-GUNS. PLEASE SMILE!"[game?]
- Samson's Garage featured ...To Kingdom Come resembles a Rim Jobs both inside and out.
