The Pump-Action Shotgun is a weapon in Saints Row IV[4] and Saints Row: Gat out of Hell.
- The standard law enforcement shotgun. Duck if you see one coming...
- — Weapon Description[5]
Overview[]
The Pump-Action Shotgun is a high powered shotgun that can inflict high damage in close quarters. It's weaker than the Semi-Auto Shotgun at longer ranges due to its wider spread, but is the most powerful of the 2 buckshot firing shotgun at closer ranges. The Super Knockback upgrade is excellent at keeping targets away from the player and also works on vehicles.
Upgrades[]
Clip Size, Damage, Effective Range and Rate of Fire can all be upgraded 5 levels each, with a separate Super Knockback "ultimate upgrade".[6]
Availability[]
- The Pump-Action Shotgun is available for $100 during and after "The Fundamentals".
- Some ZPD officers carry these weapons and can be obtained by killing them or disarm by taking him as Human Shield.
Analysis[]
- Pros
- Higher damage per shell over the Semi-Auto Shotgun
- Wide spread allows the shotgun likely to hit multiple targets
- The Knockback upgrade works on infantry and vehicles, including tanks
- Cons
- Slowest rate of fire of any shotguns
- Slowest reloading Shotgun when Semi-Auto Shotgun is upgraded
- Tends to spray more than the other Shotguns, making it even less effective than the other Shotguns at longer range
- Has the least effective range of all Shotguns

There are 4 costumes for the Pump-Action Shotgun: Deacon 12-Gauge, Blunderbuss, Kardak Lasershot and Hillbilly.

Trivia[]
- The Deacon 12-Gauge was the first Pump-Action Shotgun to be revealed, in the IGN E3 demo.
- The Deacon 12-Gauge, by its default appearance, resembles an Ithaca Model 37 Stakeout shotgun with a foregrip. It's also noticeable there are tag marks on the receiver.
- The description of the default Blunderbuss could be a reference to the Evil Dead trilogy, in which the film's protagonist refers to his shotgun as his "Boomstick".
- The Kardak Lasershot resembles both the Plasma Rifle from Fallout 3 and New Vegas and the Wunderwaffe DG-2 from the Treyarch Call of Duty games.
- The Deadwood Doc skin is likely a reference to the town of Deadwood, South Dakota, which gained notoriety in the late 19th Century as a lawless frontier town, the western TV drama Deadwood and character Doc Cochran, who used a shotgun in one episode, as well as Doc Holliday, who famously used a double-barreled shotgun at the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone Arizona.
- In some few cases, when Playa fires the Pump-Action Shotgun in quick successions, he may not pump this weapon, this does not affect the rate of fire however.
- Passengers does not pump the shotgun as well after firing, they just hold the grip without pumping.
