ZPD or Zin Police Department, are a type of law enforcement in Saints Row IV. A simulated recreation of the Steelport Police Department from the real world by Zinyak.
Overview[]
The ZPD uniform is comprised of dark grey pants, shirt, white cap and black boots. Early in the game ZPD officers wearing the brown fifties style uniform from "A Pleasant Day" patrol the streets of Virtual Steelport.[2] All ZPD officers in grey uniform are men with dark skin while those in the 50's brown uniforms have light skin. But there are no female officers like the Steelport Police.
Similar to Steelports, The Playa cannot be Busted by the ZPD. But unlike the Steelport Police, ZPD officers carry Heavy SMG and Burst Rifles as better weaponry than the ones seen by Steelport Police. The ZPD don't seem to have any police stations in The Simulation of Steelport.
The ZPD make their first appearance during "The Fundamentals". 8 officers are deployed to kill the Playa. After the mission is completed, ZPD officers always appear at level 2 Notoriety and more. After "Power Up CID" is completed, ZPD are no longer dispatched and will be replaced by Zin Aliens after two or three, but still patrol the streets and appear in random events like the car accidents.
Weapons[]
Unlike Steelport Police, the ZPD uses four types of weapons: the Quickshot Pistol, the Heavy SMG, the Pump-Action Shotgun, and the Burst Rifle.
The Officers are also capable of performing drive-bys. However, they rarely fire whilst driving a Peacemaker and usually only fire at Playa during Virus Injection. However, they are capable to shoot whilst driving Peacemakers. ZPD officers driving Kenshins can fire, regardless.
Vehicles[]
The primary vehicle is the Peacemaker sports car originally the Fer de Lance in Saints Row, and the Kenshin sports bike. They also utilize Oppressors, Challengers and Bears seen during the Mayhem Activities.
Trivia[]
- Everytime the Tank Mayhem (Hard Instance) is complete, Security Guards will replace the ZPD officers model. But act the same as one and still drive the ZPD vehicles. [3]
- The passenger in the Police Oppressor during Mayhem activities are actually Steelport Police from The Third, armed with the Sniper Rifle.
