The Gyro Daddy is a vehicle in Saints Row 2.

Overview[]

The Gyro Daddy is a small 2-seat helicopter. Its 2nd rotor is placed directly behind the cockpit and in front of the steering flaps. This setup eliminates the need for a long tail, just like with real autogyros.

Unlike its real-life counterparts, the Gyro Daddy does not have side body pieces that protect the pilot and prevent them from falling out.

The Gyro Daddy is easy to control, fast, and good for darting between buildings and getting into small spaces. It has the slowest ascension speed of any helicopter and loses altitude very quickly while heading forward, requiring frequent stops and ascensions, making it less than ideal for lengthy flights.

Obtaining[]

The Gyro Daddy can be added to the garage by entering #4976 (#GYRO) into the Cellphone. The unlock code was given to GameStop pre-order customers, along with the Peewee and the Destroy, and does not flag the save file as cheating on Xbox 360 or PC. On PS3, the save file is marked as cheating but Autosave is not disabled.

As it is a cheat and not an unlockable, it takes up a space in the 64-vehicle garage.

Trivia[]

  • When landing too fast, the Gyro Daddy tend to tilt backwards on impact with the ground.
  • The Gyro Daddy has the fewest hitpoints of any vehicle in Saints Row 2, fewer than half as many as the next lowest, the Bee.[1]
  • The Gyro Daddy explodes with one hit from a missile or one McManus 2010 bullet.
