The Compensator is a vehicle in Saints Row 2, Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV.[1]

Overview[]

Large enough to be classified as a semi truck, this 4-seater truck can often spawns driving around the Docks & Warehouses, Arena, Trailer Park, Downtown, Nuclear Power Plant districts both during the day and at night, but can also spawns less frequently in other districts during the day. Customized versions can be driven by civilians anywhere they drive normal Compensators.

The Brotherhood use this truck as a gang car, and it is unlocked in the garage after completing all Brotherhood missions. The Brotherhood version with different vinyls spawns at a 5 star Brotherhood Notoriety and like the Alaskan, doesn't spawn randomly in their turf otherwise. The Brotherhood variant is featured in level 9 of Tow Truck.

In Saints Row: The Third the Luchadores utilise black Compensators, with black wheels, green side skirts and bonnets. It is also a Vehicle Theft target by Grieves.

In Saints Row IV, Compensators are used by the Vice Kings.[2] These Compensators are solid yellow with bronze trims and running boards.

Performance[]

It has four wheel drive, a powerful engine, and tough build so it is an excellent choice for an off-road vehicle. A major drawback is the poor turning radius. On the bright side, even without a reinforced bumper and frame, it can take a lot of damage, including two grenades from a AR-50 w/Grenade Launcher before exploding. If equipped with an reinforced bumper and frame, it can take 2 rockets from a RPG Launcher before exploding, what makes it great choice for Drive-by Diversion. Along with absorbing massive amounts of damage, the Compensator can dish out extreme amounts of force to other vehicles. It's easily capable of knocking cars clear off the road.

The Brotherhood uses a modded Compensator with a unique fender/hitch to drag Carlos in the Saints Row 2 mission "Red Asphalt".

Obtaining the Compensator from Red Asphalt in Co-op
  1. The Guest stays where the truck spawns, rapidly pressing the Enter Vehicle button.
  2. The host beats up Donnie.
  3. The Truck appears next to the Guest.
  4. The Guest should be able to get in without being pushed out, but not controlling the truck.
  5. Host ends the mission.
  6. The Guest stays in the truck and receives control of it.

Method without Co-op

  1. Proceed through the mission until you meet Donnie.
  2. Throw all improvised weapons into the next room to stop Donnie from moving (somehow).
  3. Once he stops moving, push him outside his garage.
  4. Once outside, call Stored Vehicle Delivery and request a Betsy or La Fuerza without tailgate.
  5. When your vehicle arrives, push Donnie into the rear bumper and hit him with a Baseball Bat/Sledgehammer to knock him onto the truck bed (running into him helps keeping him on the bed).
  6. CAREFULLY drive to the Compensator spawn, make sure Donnie doesn't fall off of the back (using Cruise control is advised).
  7. Park your vehicle so you have clear sight on Donnie and position yourself so that when the truck spawns, you will be facing the driver's door.
  8. Shoot Donnie until he says his last line (Wait between his lines).
  9. Rapidly press the Enter Vehicle button to enter the truck.
  10. Once you successfully entered the truck (you can tell by its logo appearing), cancel the mission and if it keeps moving, exit it and enter it while standing on top of it (you'll probably have to chase it down).

Warning: Changing the Compensator's body color will cause the game to crash (It is tested on Xbox 360).
