They are made up entirely of Hispanics, operating in the city of Stilwater longer than any other gang. They can be identified by their red colors. They are headed by the Lopez Brothers, taking over after the death of their father with older brother Hector as the Jefe and younger brother Angelo as his number 2. Victor Rodriguez is their enforcer, a man of imposing physical strength and endurance. Luz Avalos is Angelo's girlfriend, though there is a suggestion of an affair between her and the gang's liaison with Colombian Drug Cartels, Manuel Orejuela creating a tense situation between him and Angelo.

Los Carnales was the first gang of Stilwater, founded by Alejandro Lopez[1], and also the father of Hector and Angelo[reference?]. Within months, Los Carnales spread throughout Stilwater.[1] However, they weren't able to deal with the Sunnyvale Gardens revolt, which was the birth of the Vice Kings gang.[1]. He has since died. [reference?]
Added by User452For years the Carnales have ruled thanks to deep running connections with Colombians for drugs[reference?], which bring in scores of money which supplies them with all the weapons needed for fighting and winning wars. During their quest for city dominance they began to come into conflict with locals of a particular neighborhood, namely Sunnyvale. The residence of Sunnyvale Gardens mainly the teenagers, began to cause problems for the Carnales. Spearheading this movement was none other than Benjamin King, the Vice King's leader. Unable to maintain control over "The Gardens" the Carnales were pushed out with force.[reference?] Pushing the Vice Kings to expand further across the Projects District, until they completely forced the Carnales to retreat further West. By the time of the game, they have lost their top position to the Vice Kings, but are still a significant presence in the city, dominating most of the Southern Island. Los Carnales specialize in drug trafficking and arms dealing.[reference?]
Originally, the Carnales had a hold on a neighborhood within the territory of the 3rd Street Saints along with another gang the Westside Rollerz. Their primary stronghold was an abandoned liquor store located in Athos Bay.[reference?] The Carnales are the gang that first introduced the drive-by. Notoriously acknowledged and respected as an extremely aggressive gang quick to go to war.[reference?] Being the oldest and second largest gang, guns are plentiful, being considered an aggressive gang, those guns are used on a daily basis in order to fight the multiple wars they're currently engaged in. When it comes to gun fighting Los Carnales are one of the first gangs mentioned. After the take over of that stronghold, the gang was one of four that engaged in a violent turf battle for control of the Saints Row area, culminating in a victory by the Saints and the retaking of their home territory. After this, the Saints began hitting the Carnales even harder performing more drive-by shootings against them, crossing out tags, hitting drug labs and hijacking a shipment of drugs.[reference?] This causes 3rd Street to appear on the Carnales' radar, with Manuel becoming concerned that the Lopez brothers can not secure drug shipments. In retaliation, Los Carnales launches its own pre-emptive attack against 3rd Street territory.[reference?] The attack is pushed back, and the Saints retaliate in turn even harder, and becomes that much more aggressive in the ongoing war between these two orginazations. Using the truck that was carrying the drugs they hijacked, they infiltrate a Carnales drug lab and engage the Carnales in a fierce gun battle, killing all of the Carnales on site.[reference?]
Hector decides to continue as planned with meeting the Colombians at a major shipment, personally with an entourage of rocket-launcher toting bodyguards. Despite the number of elite guards, Hector and his guards are assassinated by a sniper. Although the sniper is a 3rd Streeter (the player character), in the confusion it is initially thought by the Carnales that one of the Colombians had fired the shot. Victor, either present at the docks or arriving after the fact, reports to Angelo that his brother is dead. This sends him flying into a rage. 3rd Street Boss, Julius, sees an opportunity to get into the lucrative drug trade within Stilwater, sending representatives to meet with Manuel at a Tee-N-Ay. Instead, they are ambushed by Carnales shooters lead by Victor.[reference?]
Barely escaping, the representatives make their way back to Mission Beach. Not too long after that, Victor hits the Row again. This time leading a direct attack on the church. After an extremely fierce gunbattle in the middle of the streets of Mission Beach, Victor assaults 3rd Street himself in his customized Bulldog SUV. However, the SUV is smashed by K6,AR40's and other automatic arms. Being heavily damaged and eventually explodes. This, however, does not stop Victor, who comes out of the flaming wreckage and attacks the Saints whilst on fire himself, much to the surprise of the Saints. Despite this, Victor is eventually killed.[reference?]
A distraught Angelo vowed to take revenge for his brother and friend, straining his relationship further with Luz. Meanwhile for the Saints, the Colombians issue an ultimatum: they will work exclusively with the Saints if they can return the confiscated cocaine to them from a police lock-up. To do this, the Saints formulate a plan to use a car bomb to blow a hole in the wall of the police evidence locker and steal back the Colombians cocaine. After a tense drive to the station, the Saints detonate the bomb, steal the cocaine and make a frantic run back to a garage with the police on their tail.[reference?]
Manuel meets with the Boss of 3rd Street, to formulate a business deal at a strip-bar. However, the meeting is interrupted by Angelo who opens fire with an automatic assault rifle, meaning to avenge the death of his brother by killing all involved. He is unsuccessful and quickly retreats. Manuel then offers the Saints his home address. Assaulting the Lopez Mansion, the Saint's take it over, but Angelo escapes after a wild chase through the city.[reference?]
With the Carnales leadership decimated, and the drug and weapons production capabilities all but destroyed, Angelo now attempts to leave the city to rebuild his gang at a later date. The Saints become aware of this, and strike at the airport where Angelo's private jet is preparing to take off. Despite tight security, a pair of Saints manage to destroy the Jet, and everyone on-board, on the runway. Luz, at the airport to meet with Angelo, arrives at the very end of the fight and is met by Angelo's killers. Despite some threats of violence, they let Luz go unharmed. She is later seen with Manuel, possibly beginning a relationship with him.[reference?]
AftermathEdit
With the Carnales gone, the Saints control most of the southern island and control the majority of the Stilwater drug trade, as well as the docks and airport.
