The AR-40 Xtnd is a weapon in Saints Row, Saints Row 2, and Saints Row: Total Control.

DescriptionEdit

The AR-40 Xtnd is a military-grade assault rifle. In Saints Row and Saints Row 2, this assault rifle beats the K6 Krukov in terms of accuracy and firepower, as well as magazine capacity (40 rounds). It can be picked up from SWAT Teams and/or FBI agents in both games.

When Saints Row 2 was due to be released, it was widely believed^[reference?] that Volition were giving the AR-40 a grenade launcher. This was proven to be false. However, the grenade launching abilities were granted for the Special AR-50 XMAC unlocked through the Combat Tricks diversion. The regular AR-50 XMAC does not have this ability.

• The Cheat Code for this weapon in Saints Row is #27409863 (#AR40Xtnd).
• This is one of few weapons in Saints Row 2 which has no Cheat Code.
• In Saints Row: Total Control, it has a underslung grenade launcher.
• Its name "XTND" is abbreviating "Extend", referring to its collapsible buttstock.
• The AR-40 is an amalgamation of various real-life AR-15 variants; it has the M4A1's barrel cutout used to mount the M203 grenade launcher, the XM177E2's flash suppressor, and the M16A2's upper receiver.
