Samedi Poo[]

I think "Samedi Poo" not exist--Chiquito 09:34, July 6, 2012 (UTC)

Oh it does. I added a picture of it to the gallery of this article as proof. SuperNull 14:47, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, I guess should upload all the screenshots I've been taking before they're redundant! That said, I was planning on taking screenshots of absolutely every variant and adding them to articles, but since you also have that ability, would you like to take care of that while I focus on other things? --452 00:04, July 7, 2012 (UTC)
I know how to mod the game so yeah, I can spawn and screenshot all variants.
HOWEVER, if I'm to do this I will be removing lot's of crappy pictures as well. (for example, this article has WAY to many low quality shots of the mission/reward variant).
Just wanna make sure you agree with this in advance.... SuperNull 00:32, July 7, 2012 (UTC)
Definitely. The best way to do that would be to just upload new versions of the images which you're replacing.
For example, File:Bulldog1.jpg - I uploaded a better version of the exact same image, but it's fine to do the same thing when the image is substantially the same - usually the same angle. Doing that saves having to also edit the article. Instead of uploading the images individually, it's also possible to replace images by giving them the same file.
In cases where the image you're replacing isn't really that similar, just tag it with {{delete}}. Obviously, don't replace one variant image with a different variant or a front view with a rear view, stuff like that. If the low-quality variant image is nonspecific, don't waste your time figuring out what it is, just tag it.
To save you some time, here's an edited car_dealerships.xtbl containing all 584 variants for $1 each: Forum:SR2 Variant Store - Bikes are at cycles, Boats are at ship it, planes and aircraft are at foreign power. Unfortunately, the variant name won't be listed on-screen, but you should be able to keep track if you just do them in order.
Thanks! --452 01:28, July 7, 2012 (UTC)
Alright. I'll start working the list after the weekend when I'm off work again.
Anyway, here is something you may love to know about SR2 .xtbl files; You can trow comments in them in most places using the <Description> tag. Like this:
  <Element>
      <Description>Hounfor unique limo</Description>
      <Vehicle>sp_hearse02</Vehicle>
      <Variant>Standard</Variant>
      <Cost>50000</Cost>
   </Element>

You might also like the shops_sr2_city.cts that I have zipped in this mod. It has the Cycles and Ship It vehicle spawn points adjusted so even the Tornado and the Convict fit. SuperNull 03:54, July 7, 2012 (UTC)
Thank for the info about the description field, I've updated Forum:SR2 Variant Store. Although at this point, I expect you don't need it. ;)
What I had started to do with my list of different variants was to note which specific features were unique to each, listing which variants can have a certain feature, and which always have a certain feature.
For example, with the Snipes 57 (and I chose this example as the differences are so slight)
  • Beater - Matte, two colours, no stripes, tinted windows. Shawbone logo only.
  • Standard 2 Tone - Gloss, two colours, no stripes, tinted windows.
  • Standard Stickered - Gloss, red or blue stripes. Front windows clear, passenger tinted.
  • Bling - Gloss, red or blue stripes, all Windows tinted green.
  • SH_BH05 - Gloss, red or blue stripes. Black tinted windows, Shawbone logo only.
Forum:Variants is a good place to start, but in this case, the information on the stripes isn't listed there, and it's unclear that the Brotherhood variant only comes with the Shawbone logo.
But anyway, you don't need to go to all that trouble unless you want to, I'm just letting you know what I had planned, and what I'll eventually do if no-one else does. :)
One other thing, when marking old images for deletion, if you could link to the new replacement image in this delete tag, that would help greatly. --452 03:55, July 8, 2012 (UTC)
Ok, I've taken a look at your vehicle dealer mod and I think it's just a wee bit too tedious to document every single variant. The differences are often too small and rendered irrelevant by the player being able to mod features in and out at the mechanic. I will screenshot and document SOME, but not ALL. (unsigned: SuperNull 04:00, July 9, 2012)
No worries, you can do as much or as little as you like, I'll eventually get any that you don't. Nice screenshots so far, btw. :) --452 00:01, July 10, 2012 (UTC)
Septic Avenger in Airborne Assault

I mean, it does not exist in that mission, at least in sigle player --Chiquito 17:36, July 9, 2012 (UTC)

Right... I noticed that in the movie liked in the Airborne Assault mission there is also a Septic Avenger and not the Samedi City Waste truck. So we have confirmation from 2 people of this now. Good enough to edit the Airborne Assault and City waste truck articles. SuperNull (18:11, July 9, 2012)
Ah, very interesting, thanks. I can confirm that the data file loads the "Septic" variant, rather than the "Gang_SOS" variant. I think we can safely assume that it was intended for that mission and that someone messed up and loaded the wrong variant again. (There are several other similar mistakes, like Shaundi's Topher, and the Ultor Miami). --452 00:01, July 10, 2012 (UTC)

2nd Passenger Weapon[]

According to TRUCK_2DR_SEPTIC01_VEH.XTBL, the driver controls the front weapon, passenger 1 controls the rear weapon and passenger 2 controls the front weapon. It's difficult to get NPCs to use the vehicle weapons at the best of times, so this would most easily be confirmed in multiplayer. -452 (talk) 04:14, March 12, 2014 (UTC)

In Co-op Septic Avenger Activity, guest (if I'm not mistaken) controls the front weapon and seats in the middle. If so, then outside of Activity, driver loses control of Spray cannon, though second player gets in right seat and it is hard to confirm. It would be easier to check if Co-op was for 3 players. (I should stop dreaming)
TheMoonLightman (Message Wall, contribs) 08:51, March 13, 2014 (UTC)
Confirmed. Method: Host and a Homie get in the vehicle. Guest then gets in the vehicle - into the middle seat, and controls the front weapon. The driver controls neither. In theory, it would also be possible to trick the Homie into driving, so that both players get into the passenger seats and control each weapon. -452 13:11, March 29, 2016 (UTC)

NO POOP[]

So, truck_2dr_septic02_veh.xtbl says "<Display_Name>Septic Avenger NO POOP</Display_Name>", but truck_2dr_septic02_veh.CVTF says "City Waste Truck", meaning the display name IS "City Waste Truck". We can still safely say that "Septic Avenger NO POOP" is an internal name. This may be the first instance that has been found of the xbtl not matching the cvtf. 452 00:45, November 5, 2019 (UTC)
