Description

In each game, The Mix 107.77 changes genre slightly.

  • In Saints Row 2, it plays iconic 1980s pop and rock hits.
  • In Saints Row: The Third it has expanded it's music variety and now plays 80s and 90s pop, rock and hip-hop.
  • In Saints Row IV, its purpose as an 80s station has been mostly forgotten. It takes on the role of a generic 'flashback' station, playing a wide variety of genres, although mostly hip-hop and rock, from between the years 1976-2000. This type of genre-shift is also noticeable with the so-called "Generation X" station, which plays music outside of the normal range of "Generation X", and instead plays modern alternative rock. In Saints Row: The Third, The Mix 107.77 plays music from some Generation X bands, such as Faith No More's Epic.

Saints Row 2

In Saints Row 2 it plays mostly new wave, classic rock and pop, there are advertisements throughout Stilwater, and The Mix's logo can also be put into clothing.

DJ

Darius Masters is the host of The Mix in Saints Row 2.

Trivia

  • The Mix was originally to have also included The Safety Dance by Men Without Hats, but although the announcement is included in the game data files, the track itself is absent. The song is included in Saints Row IV.
  • When playing "Everybody Wants To Rule The World", Darius sometimes says the song is "going out to Ultor" and Vogel sometimes calls, asking for 'my theme song' (leaving Darius nervous). After Dane's death, Darius sometimes plays the song as an Ultor tribute.
  • Darius' favorite song is The Final Countdown, which he sometimes describes as the greatest song ever.
  • Sometimes, before playing Karma Chameleon, Darius remarks on "Red, gold and green" being the trademark colors of the three major gangs in Stilwater.
  • Jessica's request for "Sister Christian" and Dane Vogel's request for "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" are still played after their deaths.

Saints Row: The Third

DJ

"Big" Ben is the host of the station in Saints Row: The Third, who often talks about his ex-wife, and also states that he is best at missing out on things such as music concerts and his son's graduation. Like all other DJs, he also accepts song requests from listeners.

Tracklist

In Saints Row: The Third, The Mix's format has changed from 80s pop & rock to a wider variety of music. This range includes 80s and 90s rock, pop and hip-hop.

  • During the "Three Way" mission in Saints Row: The Third, "Holding Out For A Hero" by Bonnie Tyler is automatically played during the decision whether to save Shaundi or kill Killbane.
  • During the mission in Saints Row: The Third "Steelport Here I Am", The Protagonist and Pierce sing along to "What I Got".
